What in your opinion is the better watch a Moser or a Dornbuthe
@mikec34544 жыл бұрын
H. Moser is outstanding ... simply beautiful. Rolex by no means is up there as "haute horologie" when you start comparing them to brands like H. Moser, ALS, or even JLC. Though, I will give Rolex the nod for building an extremely robust movement and watch that can accompany you to the office, to the tennis court, biking, beach, diving, etc, etc. Extremely reliable watches, but Rolex isn't in the same league as H. Moser and others.
@EtherealSky4 жыл бұрын
H.Moser indeed makes beautiful watches like many other brands and it comes with a price. However, both Rolex and Patek are mostly about quality, brand recognition and value holding all together, so it's arguable to claim which is the best.

Great watch without a doubt, but...why must they sign the watchface in script that looks like it escaped from a corny rhyme in a cheap greetings card? In the effort to look individual, too many watchmakers are resorting to naff signatures. Christopher Ward is another case in point - that looks as if it was reproduced from a John Bull Printing Outfit (remember those?) Does this matter? Yes, because the watch's wearer has to look at it every time it's on the wrist and this one would irritate he hell out of me. Any chance of you doing a feature on this (comparatively) trivial subject?

There’s plenty of watches out there that are much better than the top named brands and at a tenth of the cost. If you like the look of a watch, it tells the time the same as any other watch and it’s accurate, then that’s the best watch for you. Rolex, Omega etc etc just gives you bragging rights or the ‘look at me’ effect. It doesn’t matter if it’s mechanical, quartz or tuning fork (which I think are amazing) if it’s what you like that will do.
