2232 blue here. I adore it. Slightly loose on the wrist, but that works perfectly in the summer. Got the 2254 on rubber too, so a great blue and black steel and titanium pair. Plus a couple of 1960s bakelite Seamaster300s, but that is a different league.

Great review and spot on the hits and missed of this watch. I own the 2232.80 which is the Electric Blue Titanium one. I almost made the mistake of selling it. Watch is perfect and u barely feel it on the wrist. I also love the Titanium construction downplays the watch even more, this one goes under the radar like no other watch. Cheers!

Luckily the bracelet fits fine so I haven’t had to do the micro adjust clasp mod Ive done to my 2535.80. It’s the perfect seamaster 300m. Great review!

I have the 2232.50 and the 2255.80 and love them both. Both get more wrist time than my Aqua Terra. Great stuff. I did get the bezel insert changed to the 2254 black insert and it looks amazing.

hey, can I ask, cause after seeing the AT, it became my grail. why do you personally prefer the other models you have?
@doubleasblog Жыл бұрын
@@jordanJohnn The AT is bulkier wearing than the 2255 and 2232 (which are dimensionally identical the 32 being titanium). The case is much thinner and the edges feel to be more organically broken and more comfortable. Thinner and more svelt. The lume on the AT is disappointing compared to the sword hands but that is to be expected and not a fair comparison but it's pretty much not functional to see at night without an external light source. But my needs and wants may be different. I have a 7 3/8 wrist so not small and the AT is just more bulky. That being said, it looks amazing!

I have the 2255.80 and the 2234.50 and love them both. Never thought about the micro adjustment. Just wear them a bit looser. On the hunt for the 2254.50 In addition to the sword hands, these watches have the Speedmaster style bracelet which is, I believe, much more attractive than the Bond bracelet.
@NeonMako Жыл бұрын
it is worth mentioning that if you go with the steel versions, there are several aftermarket bracelet options out there now that DO offer microadjusts. The best of the options out there right now is probably the Forstner Bullet. OFC, this won't match a titanium variant. Personally titanium watches cry out for good FKM rubber straps over bracelets anyway to play up the lightweight nature.

I have this model in stainless steel, which was a long-sought grail purchase 5 years ago despite the newer iterations. I am enamored, however, by the more recent SP300 Seaweed. But like you, I will never part with my early 2000s model other than to eventually give it to my son.

There’s a way to add a modern Omega micro adjust clasp to this bracelet. I did it on my 2254.50 and it solves the issue of sizing. With the modification, it’s absolutely the perfect watch

Bought the 2054.50 (2254 with European/Bond 5 link bracelet) in 2002 to commemorate a great year. Knew zero about autos then, but knew I loved the look of the SMP even a little more than the Submariner and the $1,700 2002 price v. $3,500-$4,000 for the Rolex made it easy. Always found the lack of a micro-adjustment an odd choice by Omega. First time I saw this 2231.50 in titanium I was in love, but couldn’t justify the then 4K+ price tag. I agree 100% with your review. It is the ultimate tool watch in titanium.

There has to be some half links to the braclet Like their are to the steel version . Also you can change the claps to one omega claps with micro adjustment

I won myself a 2231.50 from auction. Price was only 2100€ and it was a fullset with Omegas service card from 2015. Ive had this watch for 2 days now and i have to say its absolutely amazing timepiece. The only thing that i dont like is that there is no microadjustment, so the watch sits a littlebit loose.

@darkiiii3 Жыл бұрын
I had my 2231.50 for about 2 years now, seen that a few have retrofitted the newer Omega clasp with the microadjustment on these bracelets, its looks a bit bulkier than the OEM one but could be worth it if you have issues with the wrist growing during the summer. Im using half links to get that perfect fit, they are costly tho..

Sir, you have a beauty. I am fortunate in that I have the 2531.80 from 1993 and it has this eautiful patina that makes it extra special for me. I was on the fence about purchasing the newest Seamaster but just don't care for the larger size and because of the modern material it will never age like my 2531.80 which tells a story.

If watch makers are going to use Ti they really should use grade 5 rather than grade 2 in order to make it more scratch resistant.
@sardendibs Жыл бұрын
Titanium is more prone to scratching and all you gain is a few grams less on your wrist, which isn’t always desirable. Some “heft” often works well.
@patternview4 ай бұрын
a few grams less? its almost half the weight isnt it…
@talkkari546015 күн бұрын
To me, prone to scratches is non-existent problem. If you use your watch heavily you need to make decisions to either let it collect them as a battle scars or polish them when maintenance is coming around. If you use your watch rather sparingly I have not seen any major difference to steel. So in either cases it doesn't really differ from steel. So to me nearly half the weight is just superb feature that needs to be appreciated by wearer in order to make sense go with titanium. And it is really pleasant in cold and hot weather, unlike steel. Ofcourse you kind of get used to weight and feel of steel too.
@sardendibs14 күн бұрын
@@patternviewNo, because the movement, crystal etc. is not made of titanium, so even if the case material weighs close to half, the watch as such doesn’t. Steel version is 148g. Titanium is 111g.

Of course there's no micro adjustment, the watch is from 2005. However, Omega's clasps of that era were gorgeous, low-profile affairs that integrated perfectly into the rest of the bracelet. I'll take that over the thicker, bulkier clasps of today that do feature micro-adjustment. The aesthetics of Omega's current Seamaster clasps are truly awful. Somewhat surprised to see what appears to be corrosion on those sword hands of such a "young" watch. Seems that in a humid environment like the UK, the gaskets will need to be replaced on a regular basis, regardless of whether the watch needs a full service or not. Nice watch. I have the black-dial GMT version in steel and love it for many of the reasons you mention, including its relatively thin profile.

My 2004 model has only just had its first service this year! bad I know... but the swords on mine are absolutely fine that said they did still replace them on service... so that one seems somewhat of an anomaly or had a really really hard life.
