It's the same battle director as DMC5, so it has alot of DMC flare, but it's not just DMC. There was a showcase for 16 and it's alot similar to 7R then you might realize. So it feels more like a action game FF, rather then just full on DMC. The KH team also helped making boss fights for 16, so it's good both for it and KH4 since they can take what they learned from 16 into KH4.

@@StringoYT Its more DMC than 7R in terms of the gameplay, there are no secondary menus during combat like in kingdom hearts or crisis core.

The new gameplay and interviews basically confirmed the game is FF lore and story, but more mature, with DMC mechanics (including DMC3 devil trigger equivalents with limit breaks based on the Eikon equipped), Dragon's Dogma pawn control (the wolf), Lightning Returns cooldown kit swap (for the different Eikons load outs), infinite basic magic for long range attacks to keep up combos, Dad of War world design (so open zones, rather than open world), and God of War 3 epic scale. So basically an action fan's dream game! Around April, YoshiP said they're going to showcase more of the world, exploration and RPG mechanics. Then a demo 2 weeks before release!

Okay, so this what Clive and other people are The Eikons are the most powerful and deadly creatures in Valisthea. Each resides within a Dominant-a single man or woman who is blessed with the ability to call upon their dread power. In some nations these Dominants are treated as royalty in admiration of this strength-in others they are bound in fear of it, and forced to serve as weapons of war. Those who are born as Dominants cannot escape their fate, however cruel it may be. Dominants born with the ability to host Eikons, the most powerful and deadly creatures in Valisthea, inside of themselves, Like the Summoners from past entries, Dominants can call upon their Eikon's power and summon the being into the material world. Most nations revere Dominants, but the Iron Kingdom citizens view Dominants as unholy abominations who are to be put to death if discovered on their land, and in some countries Dominants are bound and forced to serve as weapons of war.

Am I the ONLY gamer on this planet who TRIES to pronounce Ifrit the way they do in the game? I mean, the name Ifrit, also spelled Efreet, didn't come out of nowhere (fire djinn in Islamic culture, in case you didn't know)

@StringoYT Like I said, I'm apparently one of thevery players who seems to even ACKNOWLEDGE that it's not pronounced the way most people think it is. Nearly all streamers I've watched continue to pronounce it EE-frit, even after the game clearly pronounces it eh-FREET. One exception I can think of is Briana White, the voice of Aerith in the Remake, when she was streaming FFXV kind of freaked out when Ardyn said, "Ifrit, the Infernian." "Wait, it's pronounced eh-FREET? OMG, I need to rethink my life!"

Thank goodness for no more boy bands and ridiculous technologies that aren't explained well. It's all about nations in cold war with nuclear warhead aka Eikons pointed at each other. I'm so in.
