I absolutely love "Taking Chances." It's an amazing vocal performance and has beautiful, relatable lyrics. And Celine looks stunning! It was co-written by Dave Stewart (half of the duo Eurythmics with Annie Lennox) and by one-time "American Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi. It reached No. 9 in Celine's native Canada, No. 7 in France, and No. 5 in Italy and Switzerland. It only reached No. 54 on Billboard magazine's Hot 100 pop singles chart in the U.S. in 2008, but it did make it to No. 6 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary (AC) singles chart. A sped-up and remixed dance version of "Taking Chances" reached No. 1 on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart! To me, it should have been a bigger pop hit in the U.S. During the bridge, Celine sings, "Talk to me, talk to me like lovers do. Walk with me, walk with me like lovers do." These lines were borrowed from the Annie Lennox- and Dave Stewart-penned Eurythmics song "Here Comes the Rain Again" from 1984. That's Dave at the beginning and end of the video, as Celine's spy boss. :-)

The album has a variety of good songs. A ballad, which was a single, titled Alone, Shadow Of Love (pop rock), single Eyes on Me with Middle Eastern motives, Skies Of LA (just a dreamy slow song), etc. A song with Stevie Wonder is in that album, right?

Falling Into You is my fave Dion song. Not a powerhouse vocal but as you said, so sensual and pretty. Immortality is great too. I noticed like you that she matched her vibrato to theirs. It works so well.

The Bee Gees wrote Immortality with her in mind. She just posted a video of them in the studio with her and hearing her sing it for the first time... or at least it appears to have been posted by her. The Bee Gees had her appear at their One Night Only concert in Vegas and performed it together live. Please react to it!! She also performed it a few years ago at the Grammy’s tribute to the Bee Gees with Barry on the front row. She was stunningly beautiful in a green velvet gown, and dedicated it to Robin, Maurice, Andy, and her brother and husband that had both recently passed. She said the song had even more meaning with the passing of time. There aren’t words to describe how perfect and moving her performance was. I would love for you to react to it, but don’t combine it with anything else, in case it gets blocked. I think it’s saying that a singer or songwriter can live one through the body of work they leave behind. Thanks for helping to keep the music alive.

I'd totally forgotten, or even doesn't realize that a Celine Dion had done a Bond theme. Not her best song, but then she can make any song a lot better than the sum of its parts with her amazing vocals (I also guess that she was constrained by the movie studio and those who commissioned it).
