Personally, i dont think Ian can be compared to anyone else in the industry. The fact he not only writes his music, plays multiple instruments, directs AND edits his video is utterly insane and i dont think people emphasize this enough because seriously, WHO ELSE IS DOING THAT😂 and they arent basic videos, you've only seen the beginning, the editing and directing from this man is incrdible truly works of art. Not to mention all his songs are top tier. Sorry im ranting but he deserves the praise imo haha. I haven't even talked about the fact he literally created a whole cinematic universe around his disorders in order for him to tell his very personal story. U mentioned how it feels a little supernatural, and while yes that is definitely true, the core of what he is portraying is actually very real for him. He has DID (dissociative identity disorder) and bipolar and within his music videos He is showing us what is going on within his mind. Its a lot to explain here but im sure the more u get into his stuff the people will explain. anywayss WELCOME TO THE OTHER SIDE ❤❤❤

He’s stated in an interview before that this music video was filmed entirely while MITO (one of his alters he has DID) was fronting and when he switched back to Ian he asked the crew when they were going to start filming and they told him they had already finished a big majority of it and were basically done he says he has no memory of doing the actual video!

Dpr ian is one of the most multitalented artists ive ever known the way he crafts his art is so admirable i just have so much respect for this man. one thing i want you to know abt his art is that ian always says that he makes art to express himself so his music is very personal like everything you get from this guy is literally a piece of him .he has a whole lore ( you'll notice if u watch his mvs in order ) that is based on his mental issues ( he has bi polar disorder & DID ) so whatever you see is not just a concept for an mv its actually what he is dealing with in his real life .he has this amazing ability to make such complicated emotions & struggles into intriguing visuals not to mentions how he delivers sonically like he got such a diverse discography its actually crazy how he is one the few no skip artists for me i think he simply doesn't know how to make a bad song i am sure you will never regret diving to dpr ian rabbit hole

Omg hi! Welcome to the other side! Ian is a korean-australian director/singer/song-writer/dancer/music producer and ect... he's not kpop, he's just kpop adjacent since he was an idol 10 years ago and lots of his fandom is kpop stans but yeah he's more like a indie/alternatif artist... To Dreamers his genre is just Ian-pop bc he makes all types of music haha🤣 Ian's world of music is amazingly crafted and very high-quality because that's his vision fully being shown since he's his own boss but it's definitely not for everyone lol i can't handle spooky stuff but i still love him somehow he is the only one i can listen to all the music spooky or not haha. I agree that the filters in this music video are so interesting. Ian's "So Beautiful" is a crazy song and music video to debut with just wow he debuted with a bop during covid era back in 2020! Personally, it's my favorite debut song ever! yes a lot of Taemin fans are also dpr ian fans, we know greatness when we see it and know to acknowledge/appreciate it. They both have a lot of respect for each other as Taemin said in an interview and Ian in one of his livestreams. I really hope the collaboration they both want will happen soon 😊
