Subhan'Allah. May Allah give us enough wisdom, guidance and judgement from Him and from His revealed ayahs, i.e. Holy Quran to implement it's teachings so that humans could be able to differentiate between the ignorance and the right path. By indulging oneself in such events or festivities is a wastage of resources, i.e. time, money and most importantly perturbed human emotions, focus and concentration consequently disturbing the importance, significance or priority of things in human's life. It could be regarded as a slowly-effected drug or alcohol. In contrast body exercise, could be achieved by sports also, has enormous benefits on human health.

@@riyazrz4941 Prophet Muhammad SM practiced sword fighting, archery, horse riding for physical exercise. Physical exercise is Sunnah.

The difference lies between playing sport and watching it. Even you and I understand that there is productivity and health in sports, so long as it is not a distraction from ones duties. Watching sport however - is non-productive and lacks benefit. But the ruling becomes general for other sports too, because most of the reasons cited for this ruling are commonly shared in almost all other TV Sports.
