Scholars of old would refrain and fear giving fatwa on even the simplest matters of Deen. Nowadays it is norm to see or hear a student of Deen confidently and at times egotistically pass a ruling over a grave matter. May Allah guide us all, Amiin.

With all due respect this ruling has been derived by sheikhs like Abdul aziz bin baz and was simply displayed by sheikh Abdul Rahman Hassan. Therefore to say this statement might discredit the great ulamaa who gave this fatwa.

Brother hijab with all due respect, are you saying you have 'understanding' whilst Abdurahman hassan hasn't? It's clear all you're trying to do is throw dirt in a perceived disagreement on an issue with bad manners and language. Your hatred for the salafi dawah will not harm it. Say what you want to say but truth be told, your youtube fans and followers cannot help you on the day of judgement where you will get exposed whether you did all of this for the sake of Allaah. Your fans and followers will be a hujjah against you. Abdulrahman hassan has been studying and teaching for over a decade servicing the sunnah and the Muslims whilst you were busy studying philosophy. He has produced students of knowledge and his crowd actually learn their deen when they listen to him rather than just showboating in the park debates. May Allaah guide you !

@@AB-fg4bx you need to really calm down. Abdulrahman Hassan may have indeed inspired people like yourself without a shadow of a doubt. But sadly since his been abroad I'm afraid he has lost touch with the western world and the situation of the muslims in these lands. (With the exception of a fanatic few who are at the early stages of practicing) There is a stark difference between Ustadh Abdulrahman Hassan of old and the one now. Before you spout out (O the difference is his gained more knowledge)... the fact of the matter is that his understanding of the مسائل is convoluted. His understanding of the sport is extremely weak, not to mention the appalling performance of the brother who's sole purpose there was to critically analyse Ustadh's opinions. In fact it was a terrible job from him! At one point he agreed with Ustadh in everything he first disagreed with him vehemently. It's called the echo chamber syndrome - completely brainwashed unfortunately. I honestly believe Ustadh Abdulrahman Hassan should do his fans a favour and sack the interviewer forthwith as his utterly useless at his job! Abdulrahman Hassan I think you need to zoom out of the books for a minute and look around. It's 2021 akhi, the Muslims have it hard, trials and tribulations everywhere. We don't live in 6th Century Arabia fortunately. And COME ON did you actually forget Ronald's name in the podcast, I have to say you're appalling in acting as well 😉.

Assalam o alaikum, Bismillah. Brother Hijab you make some very valid points. Although, in defense of brother AbdulRahhman Hasan, he also made some valid points regarding the inherent backbiting and "tribal" behaviors associated with the sociology of the sport. And of course the point about the exposed 'Awrah of the football players and both men and women audiences observing this, was significant. In my opinion (which probably doesn't matter), I believe the problem isn't intrinsically with the mechanics of the sport but rather with what the sport has become. And I think that's what Muslims need to be cautious about. May Allah reward you all. Assalam o alaikum.

Understand that this religion is a religion of balance. We can play games. As long as they are halal and have no haram content in it. - this fiasco reminds me when they said that Nike was haram to wear. Altough I see the wisdom in that verdict. It does open up a can of worms. Because then that logic needs to be applied to everything. Like buying cars, buying certain pens and etc. Not even that, allot of things which we do on a daily basis are of pagan origin. For example, most of us eat an egg in the morning because we like to and it’s a tradition for most cultures to have this food item with their breakfast. Little do many people know that this practice has an pagan origin. Like Mufti Muneer said: “ if you are gonna apply this logic, apply it fully not partially”.

Ustadh Abdulrahman Hassan is one of the best things that has happened to KZbin. So much knowledge, so much akhlak and such a great example for the youth. Brother Mohammed, I like your videos where you defend Islam, but respectfully you are nowhere near the level of knowledge of someone like Ustad Abdulrahman Hassan. You are simply not even close to being qualified to even debate someone of his calibre. You may know a lot about philosophy and history but in actual Islamic Sciences you yourself know you don't count as a scholar or even a student of knowledge. I rarely come to the defense of people, but I cannot begin to describe how beneficial the Ustad's lectures and videos have been to me and to the community who follows Al Madrasatu Al Umariyyah. It's difficult enough to find actual knowledgeable English-language Muslim content (note: knowledgeable, Speaker's Corner is just debating and da'wah, it's not the same; English Muslim social media is full of da'wah but desperately low on actual knowledge, Alhamdulillah I speak other languages so I can seek other Ustadhs). You should be humble and support the people of knowledge, because they are the heart of the Ummah, while you are supposed to be following them, not acting superior to them and exposing them to the youth who do not understand whom to look up to and whom to take knowledge from. Please do not let your many followers and big status delude you into being arrogant, my brother. I hope anyone reading this can check out Ustad's channel and benefit from the great knowledge and example that he sets. Please brother, set a good example to the youth, who comprise the vast majority of your followers. Look at these comments and how much they make negative assumptions. Wallahi, these accusations are not accurate. Wallahi, my fellow youth, please check Ustad's channel and watch his other videos before you judge. This is not correct. May Allah protect and increase Ustad Abdulrahman Hassan in patience and knowledge. May the misunderstandings and accusations in the comments remove his sins in the 10 blessed days of Dhul Hijjah. Comments like "he has too much time for such thoughts" are disrespectful. Do you think the enemies of greater scholars of the past were also concerned about the time of the scholars? There’s nothing wrong with playing football, but watching these professional games does seem to lead to haram or can even be haram to watch. It’s also a huge waste of time, and it encourages a lot of bad behaviour to the point of people being obsessive or even idolize these players. We should definitely avoid watching it, however nothing wrong with playing the sport as long as certain conditions are met.

They always use it leads to haram smh...By the logic it's haram for you not to buy an alarm clock, or haram for you not to turn it on bc it can lead to you over sleeping fajr...As far as being obsessive ie extreme ppl can do that in many things including the deen...This line of thinking, is a new religion not Al Islam! First I thought he would say to avoid football because it attracts a lot of racists, the football hooligans for example. But he talk about breaking bones and whatnot. With that logic, you pretty much can't leave your home, exercise and do your daily chores. You can get an accident on your way to work or school and break something.... it sounds like as if he is against socialising/working, or associating with non Muslim as much. Edit; maybe not with non Muslims, but trying to avoid things that have high risk of injuries, which is pretty almost anything, you can trip down the stairs at home and break something for example.

@@th529 bruh....what do u mean by promoting idol worship?? Hindus believe that God is omnipresent and hence can take up any form. I know it's haram according to Quran but Hindus don't follow Quran so what is ur problem with that? Secondly, nearly 5-6 hundred years ago emperor babar demolished the ram mandir and built the Babri mosque there which has been demolished recently abiding the order of the court. Personally for me, a more viable solution could have been reached instead of the demolishion but just think, if today somehow the Kaaba in Mecca is destroyed and demolished and a church or a temple is built upon it, how would the entire muslim population feel about it? That's an inhuman act right? Cause that's a sacred and holy place for u guys similarly the ram janm bhoomi in Ayodhya is sacred place for us where our temple was once destroyed and a mosque was built up there....tell me what should have been done? Several thousands of temples have been demolished in India by Mughal emperors and mosques were built over it.....we people just wanted our sacred land of Ayodhya back, nobody here demanded the demolition of every mosque where once a temple was, we just wanted our holy place back....is it too much to ask for? And lastly, for the kashmir issue.....the stories are far more complex than what it might presume. It's a very complex situation out there and one shouldn't judge it with biasness and onesidedness.....for the record I should tell u, I'm no modi fan or bjp supporter...just a sincere citizen. Of course you have to bring Ayat, Ahadith, Fiqh and Sharia rules into this, what muhammad hijab tried to explain is that you not only have to consist the knowledge but more importantly understand the meaning of all it.

The use of sound reasoning in making sense of adillat from the Quran and Sunnah is needed in order to form correct judgements. Bringing ayaat and ahaadith without proper critical analysis leads to misapplication of the adillat. This was clearly shown in Ustadh's Abdurrahman's use of the verse 44 from surat al Ma'idah in forbidding football. Disparaging Mo Hijab's arguments under the convenient pretext of 'Ustadh using ayaat and ahaadith' is totally delusional. Furthermore, Mo Hijab clearly used evidence from the Quran and sunnah in putting forth his arguments.

Show us ayat, ahadith, and sayings of the Sahaba and Ulama that say football is haram. You won't be able to provide evidence. What will you do then? You'll use qiyas and logic to arrive at these conclusions. And yet you critique Hijab when he uses logic.

Once some imam said to boycott zakir naik because he uses Christian, Jewish, hindu scripture in his speech and that we should not use non-Muslim things for dawah , then my uncle stood up and said brother ma-sha-allah the mic and speaker you are using is surely invented by and made by Muslims.

I’m not a scholar but even I know that there’s a lot about football that should worry a Muslim, the feigning of injury, the cheating and corruption, gambling etc etc. So for you to think that there’s nothing wrong with professional football as we know it in England also raises some concerns. I agree there’s some good in it, no doubt, but am pretty sure there are more bad in it these days. And Allaah knows best.

All of these issues you mentioned are individual issues not issues with the game itself. Because people can gamble on anything and in order to watch a game or play there is no obligation to gamble. And its not a waste of time because in actuality it brings communties closer together and allows for a segway of communication and interaction between different faiths so we can get along better as a society. Its even an opportunity for Dawah by seeing so many muslim players like Kante, Salah, Mane, Ozil etc with how generous in donation they are and when they stick to their convictions there are many people who watch this and become inspired and want to learn more about islam. The same way wrestling back in the time of the prophet Muhammad Salalahualaihiwasalam was watched by others and people of different faiths wrestled eachother and praised eachother for their wrestling abilities and techniques the same is done with Futbol no? If anything as muslims we should work harder to make the sport more dominated by muslim athletes so we can have a greater influence in being able to give dawah.

@@donutwarrior8596 you have mentioned some good points and no doubt there are benefits in sports such as football however one thing me and you know for sure is that the negatives outweigh the positives. One can sit down for 90 min on his backside being so endorsed, screaming cheering and stressing himself out for 21 people who don’t even know who he is so he’s ultimately just tiring himself. And when it comes to prayer he wants to rush it as quickly as possible to go back into watching the game and perhaps can’t even wake up for qiyaam layl. I’m just mentioning some realities here bro. I get your points especially the dawah bit but bro how can you give dawah if you need dawah yourself? (And I’m not taking about you directly lol) Save yourself first before you try to help others bro. Learn your religion seek knowledge, then start giving dawah to your family members AND THEN we can talk about other people

@@lookaway375 it depends on the individual, but to label it haram for everyone just doesnt make any sense. The things you are talking about are characteristic flaws of individuals who watch or play not issues with the game itself. Its similar to how there are some people who do bad things in the name of religion. The religion isnt to blame its the individuals who chose to act irresponsibly.

if the argument is that you shouldnt go to a stadium just so you dont sit next to unbelievers is weak and unreasonable, also theres special stands in the stadium thats not in epicenter of the loud and drunk fans, but on the periphery etc, it's borderline retarded to spend energy on analysing if football or what happens in football is haram when you have arab brothers slaughtering each other in iraq, syria, yemen, lybia etc and children in palestine not having much to eat, european muslims not being allowed to built/have minarets or to wear hijab etc

I have to watch the whole video of ustadh Abdulrahman. From what I saw from the present clip, I do agree with some of the things you said. However, I am shocked by your enmity towards ustadh Abdulrahman. Why do you always want to humiliate the one whom you refute, even if he is your muslim brother? The way you talk sometimes is absolutely disgusting. Look at around 11:20. Are you proud of speaking in that manner? Incredible

Akhi, he has too. Firstly Abdurahman Hassan is a knowledgeable brother. But he is slipping in some areas in knowledge, where is he getting these from? Why dont we hear our ulema give these type of refutations? Hes simply not at that level, and these types of videos make him undesirable to listen to. If he wants to perfect his knowledge, firstly he shouldn’t be giving fatwah, hes no mufti. Secondly he has to think before speaking.
