I think Forrest will be back! We always worry but he's a tough, strong deer and I think he is out doing his thing in the rut. We know he goes a bit crazy during this time, and it doesn't actually surprise me much that he hasn't been around. He's got things to do and girls to see 😄 Glad to hear the scare with Chris was just a scare! Take care Jimmy and Chris! Merry Christmas!

We love you and Chris and everyone in the family, Apache too. He's part of your family for sure! We had a lot of years with Mr Forrest. He brought us so much joy watching him grow and become such a big beautiful buck. He was the last connection to Lucy's herd. I miss her still. I often post old photos of her on Facebook to keep her memory alive. She will never be forgotten and if Forrest never comes back to the ranch he will not be forgotten either. Praying Forrest is safe. This eve right down at the wnd if the road I live on I counted at least 30 deer. I had no idea there were that many deer in this little strip of land. Think one of our yard bucks either got tangled up in someone's christmas lights or a kid lost a flashing light necklace. That old bucks right front hoof glowed green, then I blinked. He had his nose down, and his nose began to blink green. That's not a big fish story either.

Jimmy have you ever thought about having a thermal drone fly the property, if you wasn't so far away I'd offer to come do it for you. I do deer recovery up here in my area and it's a very useful tool for locating any type of animal but especially deer, as long as the majority of the leaves have fallen you will see them.

Unfortunately we've lost a lot of Jimmy's favorite deers over the years and hopefully forest isn't one of them considering almost losing forest a couple or few years ago
