@@user-dw3bh6gh8r What's impossible/not true? That she could have earned that score, judging from her starting point and the amount of time she had to study, or that her score practically guarantees admission to law school? I wouldn't have trouble believing either (or both), though a 179/180 (it is 180, right?) would definitely at least guarantee eligibility anywhere (in the way that, say, a 120 wouldn't). I can't imagine _any_ score on _any_ test would outright guarantee admission to a(ny sort of reputable) university though.

It's unfortunate that Warner says he needs a Jackie and not a Marilyn. Marilyn Monroe was really smart and really progressive for her time. People just underestimated her, but maybe that was the point the writers were trying to make.

Warner's a complete ass though, he *would* say something so idiotic! He's living in the modern day, so like the rest of us he actually should know that MM was a very smart and seriously talented woman. But he doesn't actually care about such things, that's the point. It's not about her being intelligent. Such is the depth of his narcissism that Warner doesn't give two hoots about his partner being intelligent or not. What he cares about is how other people perceive her. Not because he even cares about the partner, but because he needs to make himself look more impressive. That's why he suddenly showed interest when other people recognised how brilliant she was. Appearance is all that matters to him, not the reality.

I personally like the evolution of it. In the beginning she’s bright, colorful, and her hair is curled and bouncy. When she starts getting serious about law school it’s almost like she’s trying to “fit in” more; her clothes are darker and more older and her hair is less bouncy. At the very end(the court scene with the pink dress)she combines both of them to finally become her true self with her iconic style that also fits in a courtroom...idk just my interpretation

I think the most gentleman thing I've ever seen was when my bro broke up with his first girlfriend. He had promised her that he'd help her move out of her apartment and into another one, so he first followed through on that, got her some lunch, brought her away from others and broke up then. He knew he may be hurting her heart, so he first followed through on his promise. (Know that he didn't hold back on breaking up with her until the move, he realized he wished to about two days prior.) They'd been friends and she was the one who proposed they date and he figured, 'hey, I enjoy being around her, so I should try it.' He realized soon after that he couldn't fall in love with her, and luckily, while still somewhat sad, she felt it for the best too.

She got a 4.0 GPA in Fashion merchandise (business major) from a school similar to UCLA and a 179 on the LSATs. A 180 is a perfect score. You’re right that she SHOULD have been qualified to get in. But obviously, admissions like this are in no way completely fair. I think people who think the video didn’t get her in are also missing the sly commentary the movie made about many of these supposedly more “serious” institutes still being overseen by way a cadre of middle aged - older white dudes. So it’s not as simple as “don’t judge a book by its cover.” I haven’t seen anyone who DIDN’T get that Elle was making all she did work for her. Which is also part of understanding this system. Which she was great at playing because she knew she could and was worth it!

Fun fact, the "costume party" is the last time we see Elle doing any of the things she does to get Warner back. She understands that Warner is never going to respect her and she's had enough with everyone doubting her so she decides that she's going to succeed and she's going to do it for herself. It can be hard to catch the first time watching, but she truly says "f that guy" at the party.
@emeralddarkness
@emeralddarkness 3 жыл бұрын
Vivian starts off so hostile towards Elle because Elle was the side piece. Girls like Vivian don't get engaged after only a few weeks of dating, Warner supposedly picked up the ring right before he broke up with Elle, he broke up with her because he wanted to get "serious" (with a Jackie, not a Marilyn), and Vivian took hearing about 4 hours in the hot tub *way* more personally than she should have if she and Warner hadn't been a thing at the time referenced, as well as her friend reminding her that she got the ring. She also knows him and his family well enough to know that Warner got wait-listed. Warner was cheating on Vivian with Elle, and Vivian only knew her as the "other woman". Its also why shes so quick to think Elle's sleeping her way to success, because Vivian only ever thought she was some dumb wannabe homewrecker before they got to know each other. Then they did and they both figured out Warner was the real trash, and left him on the curb.

Are you sure Sommer Ray got a BBL ? Her waist isn't very small, it's muscular and she has hip dips which people who got BBL don't, I'm like 99,9% convinced she's natural
@starheartskull15
@starheartskull15 3 жыл бұрын
@@thenewclassic4 if I remember right it was one of her ig model friends who had a bbl that accidentally spilled that sommer had gone to the same surgeon. If she really wanted ppl to not be able to tell I’m sure the surgeon would’ve known how to tweak things to make it look as natural as possible. On top of that she obviously actually works out hard so it probably built muscle & tone so it looks wayyy more natural & fits her body. A ton of famous girls rn that you’d never think in a million years cuz they’re so thin, have sculptra shots too to make their butts bigger that dissolves over time so it won’t be as intense as an actual bbl that completely reconstructs the fat mass in that area. Her friend could’ve been capping but I feel like if it wasn’t true or sommer didn’t want ppl to believe it was true, she might’ve addressed it already to defend her integrity but I dont think she has yet

To prepare for her role as Elle Woods, Reese Witherspoon spent two weeks studying the behavior of sorority girls, as she did not wish to portray a stereotypical airhead sorority image. She states on the DVD commentary that they were all very kind and polite, and she enjoyed her time with them. She also observed women shopping from the café at Neiman Marcus, and attended law school for a day.

I saw in a previous comment from a different reactor watching this movie that the reason Vivian was so cold and unwelcoming towards Elle at first was because Elle was the side piece. Warner didnt date Elle longterm then turn around and decide to propose to Vivian during summer break on a whim. Quite the opposite actually. He had been formally seeing Vivian for what is assumed to be a lengthy time and then proposed to please his family, while at the same time he had been seeing Elle behind Vivians back, stringing her along knowing that they were never going to be endgame, but still humouring the idea that he could maybe possibly someday marry her to manipulate her into staying interested in him until he wanted to break it off at his leisure. Vivian had only ever known about Elle as being the "Other Women" and therefore in her mind she was the evil homewrecker who had lured Warner away from her and was purposely trying to break them apart. So from her perspective when Elle randomly showed up at the same Law school the "happy couple" were attending, it probably looked like Elle was some jealous or stalker ex lover. Considering all that, it's no surprise why Vivian would act so catty in the first half of the movie.

The game changer for Elle getting into Harvard was getting a 179 on her LSAT; the highest possible score is 180. Everything else (sexy video-essay, academic record, leadership positions, charity work, extracurricular activities) would not have been enough. And actually, the video-essay was a stroke of genius, showing them exactly who she is, her character & demeanor, what she looks like; text is very dry, anonymizing, but images sell better. She really used the marketing education acquired in her academic career thus far; that couldn't have been lost on the intake committee.

When it got to the part of the party and Elle stood up to Vivian, I got an idea and told myself 'the next time Clarissa comes up to me, I'm going to say this.' Sure enough, not even a day later I'm being threatened by my bully and I tell her, "Hey, the next time I'd try to act like a frigid bitch, I'd try not to look so constipated."
