Also, he actually starts in the wrong key! Mike stops playing and calls him over for a quick chat, then they restart the song! 😊

Chester was one of the greatest vocalist of the last 50 years, if not longer. The man could SING! Like seriously. He wasn't just a rock singer. He wasn't limited to one genre by any stretch. She's a local. Hopefully we do it some justice." ----they proceed to knock it out of the park even with a false start--- "I want to thank Adelle for writing and performing such a great song." --classy comment easily one of my favorite songs to this day. nice reaction, all the best.

@dancerkris959 ай бұрын
I started growing with them since Meteora and then listened to Hybrid after, and I LOVED IT! But I also love ALL of their albums. I love who they are as artists. Also, when Chester grew, he didn't want to scream all the time, and it also depended on what kind of song/message it had, especially those that are extra personal to him. He LOVED all different types of genres and loved singing different styles. For example, like "Heavy," on the One More Light album sooo many HATED on it but they didn't actually LISTEN to the song. The actual lyrics on what Chester was saying in the song and on how he was singing it. They were just to focus and narrow-minded on the extra stuff that wasn't there regarding sound/instrumentals, screaming and rapping? It's not boring at all. Hell, the music video even gives it a pretty good picture of what the actual importance of the song is and describing/showing on what it's like inside his head. It didn't need to be over the top with the high vocals/instrumentals. The way he did it was perfectly done, and it's a powerful song if you truly understand it and have actually been there. The WHOLE album is literally about their own personal lives with different members in the band that was going on around that time between 2016-2017 between losses, family, depression/sobriety and dealing with some of the disrespectful "fans". One of the songs, "Invisible," that Mike Shinoda does as a lead vocal on is about him as a dad and when his kids get older. The song "One More Light" is supposed to be emotional it's about losing a loved one. Mike wrote it after a female friend of their's that they worked with at the label had died from cancer. He wrote it the day of her funeral. The whole album was more personal to them than all of the ones that they had done in the past. I respect when others don't like every single song that they do if it has an actual valid reason or just not your cup of tea. But what does irritate me the most is when those who say are "fans" call them sellouts and how trash it is or how trash they are, and just being complete shitty. When all their doing is just make music that THEY love for themselves and putting there heart, soul, sweat, tears, exhaustion, and broken bones into it, lol. It's not about the money and fame for them its about family, community, making music, art, passion, creativity, and the love that they have for ALL of their fans. Chester loves hard rock metal, soft rock, pop rock, pop (not the bubblegum Britney Spears/NSYNC type) more on the ballad side, electronic and folk. He even wanted to do a reggae style album in the future and he even wanted to take some of their old aggressive hard songs and strip them down to do an unplugged album whether it was on piano or guitar. They never actually claimed themselves as nu/metal they always thought of themselves as a wild card, expermenting, and making music that has meaning and people can relate the message to wheather its on a personal level or whats going on in the world. They have NEVER been tied down to just ONE genre hell thats how "Hybrid" got created cause they didn't want to be just ONE thing, and being limited, they have been saying that since the very beginning. They ALWAYS wanted to grow and evolve with their music its part of growing up. They are not like other bands. Never have they've always been unique. They did things that THEY want to do and not what others want them to be. The label tried doing that to them with their first 2 albums and wanted them to keep doing the same thing as before, and thats not what they wanted. So, they broke out of that very quickly and did things their own way by doing it independently with just a little bit of guidance from Rick Ruben. Mike Shinoda (rapper, 2nd vocalist, Keyboard, piano, rhythm guitar)/Brad Delson (lead guitarist) produced the Linkin Park music, Mike/Chester wrote the songs, Mike/Joe Hahn (DJ tables) came up with the art ideas for their albums, Joe also directed majority of their music videos, Mike came up with the set designs on how they want the stages to be on tour, he also did the band merchandise and created their web design. They do EVERYTHING that THEY WANTED to do. If anything, "Linkin Park" is it's own genre. They were a very special different kind of band and did it by their own rules

This is what I think he is perhaps saying, "you paid it, you played it, you paid it, you played it to the beat." Not sure, though.
@ChrisBennett_Dwarfsoft2 ай бұрын
Yeah, I heard it on the first play, I felt the third word as paid was less pronounced and more to tie it back to a mispronunciation than intent. Paid - Played - P (l) aid ... It was so glaring to me but felt like it was just an attempt to remedy a mistake. I couldn't discern meaningfully intent in having paid over played in terms of lyrics
