'The Girlie Show' tour was my first Madonna concert. It was amazing. There's a part where there is fire on stage and I could feel the heat from my seat. I think I was in the 200 level on the side of the stage at Madison Square Gardens. It was so cool. Glad to see you finally watched the opening of 'The Confessions Tour'. It's probably my favorite opening of one of her tours. She has a horse theme because prior to this tour she was thrown from a horse and broke several bones. Would have been cool to see the tour live. Anyway, great reactions again . I never loved that remix of Erotica… it misses the grit and edge of the original, but her burlesque kitty cat performance was everything. The video you watched missed that she had a topless female dancer come down from a huge pole on the stage and people freaked out because they assumed it was her… anything was possible because she just did the Sex book, so who knows. 🤣🤣 I Feel Love is the quintessential disco track. It was genius of M and Stuart Price to mix it into Future Lovers, just as they had with Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie for Hung Up.

The #1 Madonna live performance is Vogue during the MTV Awards in the early 1990's. Everybody already knew Vogue from the music video, Truth or Dare movie, and the Blond Ambition Tour. She switched up the whole thing and nobody at the time was prepared for it. We weren't ready.

Yeah, as others have mentioned, Future Lovers/I Feel Love is using horse riding as part of the concept. They are wearing equestrian riding gear, like the hat, and using crops. Think UK upper class riding on country estates and Polo. While married to Guy Richie and living at her English Country home, she did learn to ride and took an interest in horses. I don't know for certain but the horse in clip was probably hers. All the dudes were made up to suggest horses with the manes and riding bits. However, I do think there's some erotic double entendre going on too. I Feel Love is sampled from the song by Donna Summer in 1977. The original was meant as a concept in terms of what music will sound like in the future. It was a huge hit in the Disco era, no doubt it played at places like Studio 54. And, well, that disco ball! Although that was the second time Madonna used a disco ball on a tour. The first time she used it, she was riding on it as it descended onto the stage, during her Girlie Show tour. That tour came off the heels of her infamous coffee table book Sex and the companion album Erotica. The tour had the number here, the title track, Erotica, and other segments that were equally controversial, like a female topless dancer pole danced on the one you see here from above the stage on down to the floor. There was also guy on guy action during The Beast Within sequence and an all-out orgy simulation between Deeper and Deeper and Why's It So Hard. She also addressed the tragedy of AIDS and told the audience not to give up hope. Because in spite of the way she explores sex and sexuality, she advocated for safe sex and didn't shy away from AIDS awareness and supported research and the gay community - the group it had the most impact on in the US.
