One of my fav indies out there, love how it slowly reveals more and more depth. Does seem to be on hiatus rn because the couple making it just had a child recently (yes, its made by a couple that animates everything themselves + they do lipsyncing for the english dub which is also shocking with that small of a team)

"How old are you guys?" They don't have specific canon ages, but according to the description in a drawing stream a few months after the pilot was released, they're somewhere in the "older teens to young adults" range.

If I could suggest a show. I would suggest Monkey Wrench. It is a really good indie show that has really good characters and animation that is really smooth and reminds you of a tv cartoon.

I haven't watched the entirety of the pilot, but judging from the looks of it, it's looks really good, the backgrounds, the animation, the voices are spectacular. I haven't gotten much into the story yet, but to me it's okay.
