FINALLY! Someone can admit that Webb’s Spider-Man is great! Look, I kind of grew up with Raimi’s, but I instantly fell in love with The Amazing Spider-Man when they came out, and I never understood why anyone had problems with it. It’s so refreshing to see people who can appreciate Garfield’s portrayal. Garfield will always be my Spider-Man, though Holland is a strong second haha

I too was an Amazing Spider-Man hater until I saw it for myself. I was really bitter about Spider-Man 4 getting canceled for a reboot. Then I was bitter The Amazing Spider-Man 3 & 4 were canceled so Spider-Man could join the MCU. Now I love all 3 versions of Peter. Funny enough, Tobey is my least favorite now lol.

I was aware of Gwen’s death from the comics bc ppl would talk about it all the time on Twitter back then but I kept telling myself “no way they’re gonna kill off Emma Stone.” And I was like “that will scar so many kids who see this so no way they go through with it.” LMAO I WAS SO DELUSIONAL 😭

haha i kinda can’t help but compare these movies to maguire’s trilogy due to nostalgia but i think i agree with everything you said. garfield did SUCH a good job portraying peter parker as this awkward kid who somehow oozes with witty confidence once he puts his suit on. and YES he’s probably the hottest of the spider-men. but i think holland does a rlly good job at making both his peter and spider-man rlly believable without feeling so different like how garfield did, but they’re both great in the roles. i didn’t like harry at first either but once i realized this character isn’t rlly the same, i also appreciated his preppy rich boy aura and found it interesting that they gave him the health issues that make him transform out of fear and desperation to live. but obviously no one can compete with the effortless charm and charisma that franco had in the role (or his beautiful smile whew). also, when you said that emma stone looked in love with garfield all i could think was how they were dating during these movies. like oof the CHEMISTRY was SO insane. i’m pretty sure the scene where she shouts “PETER” while he’s in his spidey suit and then covers her mouth was unscripted. but my god, even tho there were some things i didn’t like about this duology, esp the villain designs for both green goblin and electro, they’re overall rlly good. i also love andrew garfield’s body movement and language in these films, once he puts that suit on he not only looks good cuz of his build but he wears the suit so well by how he MOVES in it. ugh.
