Corridor digital, if you’re not familiar, does a lot of reaction videos where they break down effects and stunts from movies and tv. They had the stuntman who did some of the practical effects for this movie on once. He said the swinging was difficult because you have almost no control how you twist and turn and spin. So he had to practice making it look like he was in control while just spinning around.

I always felt like this scene was an unsung scene amongst all the Spider-Man movies. We know Uncle Ben dying is the pivotal moment in Peter's storyline whatever version it may be, but this scene did such a good job showing the isolation and impact one feels when they go through loss. You feel the eyes looking at you in a "wounded animal" sort of way, even for someone like Peter, who typically goes unnoticed by his peers. It also fleshed out Flash from being the cliché bully, and made him more human. Like yeah he's an ass but he has the common sense to understand that this kid he typically punks on just lost what is essentially his dad, and when he tries to offer his condolences, he realizes just how much damage he did to Peter himself when he snaps and shoves him against the locker. It's a whole fleshing out of characters that added more to the moment.

Y'all love The Stark Suit from the MCU even though that's completely not what Spiderman is about- because he looks like a teen in that iteration. So much of the stuff in this flick is the opposite of comics accurate. People were saying Spiderman was supposed to be "dark" when this came out which was another misunderstanding. Tbh the Raimi movies got it closest but either way there are always trade-offs. If it's done well, comic accuracy really doesn't matter as much as people think

Fun fact: the actor who played the robber who ultimately got uncle Ben killed in the Tobey McGuire films played Rajit Ratha's driver on the bridge before Lizard attacks him. Also Mary Jane was supposed to be in the Andrew Garfield's sequel, even casted Shailene Woodley and was seen filming scenes, but her scenes were cut in the finished cut because there was already so much going on in the sequel

This is literally the most comic-book accurate Spider-Man out of the three. Him designing his own web shooters, use of his abilities, being flexible, a wise-cracker (being witty), his intelligence, being nerdy with science, and with him experiencing life being Spider-Man. Gwen Stacey was actually his first real girlfriend in the comics! Mary Jane didn't become official with Pete until later after Gwen. I'm glad you two enjoyed it, and I enjoyed your reaction. I find it hilarious how sometimes Monica says "Why don't you do that to me?" 🤣

Hi guys! I loved your reactions and thoughts to it. To Rico’s point of Peter being more cocky and arrogant in this movie, Andrew Garfield actually said he was staying true and accurate to the Peter Parker in the comics where he is more hot headed and angry because of his trauma in life. Tobey Maguire actually said he had no connection to Spider-Man and Peter Parker and just made his own interpretation of him, more akin to a soft spoken boy like a puppy. I hope that explains why Peter Parker in this movie seemed more rogue and arrogant, because the Peter Parker in the comics was more accurate to Andrews portrayal.❤️❤️

Just found your channel love the reactions so far!! A few things as I see you have already done both of The Amazing Spider-Man movies. 1) Spiderman is actually one of the smartest heros in marvel. He is absolutely brilliant in the comics borderline genius. 2) Gwen is actually his original love interest in the comics. Mary Jane came after....well certain things I'm sure you already know. 3) This particular version of Spiderman (cool, smart, angry) was a version of the Spiderman in the comics so it is an accurate representation of Spiderman even if it isn't the Toby Maguire version. That's it for me. Time to watch the reaction. I may edit this after I actually watch your reaction. Just wanted to say a few things before I started.

This is my favourite Spider-Man live action movie. I know that overall Spider-Man 2 with Tobey Maguire is better (specially in the villain department) but it still is my second favourite live action Spider-Man movie. I love the way they told the story, a modern aproach on what it is like being a 'nerd' or more acuratlly a loner. This Peter is very connected to his family but it still is a bit detached to them due to the mystery in his past. I loved the actors of Aunt May and Uncle Ben much more in this one that in the original trilogy. To me these characters are a lot more real and grounded (because the movie was directed by a someone who used to do romances and understands human emotion) and that gets me a lot more immersed in the story. Not to mention that all of these are great actors wich also helps with the immersion. As for Peter being a bit of a bad person and cocky when he gained his powers it is actually very close to what the original comics depict. In the original Ditko and Lee stories, Peter is so tired of being bullied that when he gains his powers he is a bit of a dick because all of a suden he is more confident in what he can do. Also, I like this aproach in the movie because it's only after the conversation with Captain Stacy that he realises that what he is doing is not the same to everyone (like for example, the police). He realises that he's been lying to himself all this time and that the only reason why he is going after the bad guys is because of a personal vendeta. After saving the kid's life in the bridge he realises that what really matters is saving lives and he finds a new purpose for his fight. Only then does he truly become Spider-Man and it feels earned. By the end of the movie he has really grown as a person and took on the responsability that comes with his great power.

Another great reaction! As a 2001 kid, I've always been a huge Marvel fan, and I grew up on Tobey Maguire's movies (Tobey's Spiderman 3 back in 2007 was actually the first movie I ever saw in a theater). Tobey will always the iconic legend, though I do think Andrew Garfield is an incredible actor. I'm not as big a fan of the Amazing Spiderman films, though I don't think the Amazing Spiderman films are bad at all. Sadly, both actors were in unfortunate situations (Tobey was originally set for 6 Spiderman films, Andrew was supposed to get 3 and multiple spinoffs connected to his character, but overall the projects didn't last with the studios). Nevertheless, looking back at the movies now, it really does feel more like an alternate universe rather than a full reboot. Looking forward to more reactions!

Captain Stacy meant it "That's it, no more." He knows, as Peter does, that the life of Peter Parker will never be able to be separated from Spider-Man. That's why Peter rarely shares his identity in the first place and it's why he never unmasks. And Peter won't tell her about what her dad said for a few reasons: One, he doesn't want her image of her father tarnished in her eyes. And two, he knows if he tells her it was a promise to her dad that she'll never accept it. Peter's in an impossible situation.

It wasn’t just strength and the spider-sense. He is also adhesive. Plus, the organic webs have only one advantage. Capacity. Mechanical Webshooters can be infinitely upgraded. For example, comic Peter made special webs resistant to Fire. It can even trap the Human Torch. A fluid variant. Acid web that is good against Sandman. Electric/Taser Webs. Web bombs. Web mines. He can make tough web constructs, such as a shield, a mace, etc. He can make an extra strong version for especially powerful beings. Having organic webs is like playing Spider-Man PS4 but with only one option in the gadget Wheel. To be honest, even if the Peter has organic webs, he is better off using his webs for his gadgets. It gives him a variety of weapons, plus he saves money because he makes his own webbing. But as far as I know, only comic Peter and MCU Peter upgrade their webs. So, Andrew’s webs end up being inferior due to a lack of variety.

@g.masterlordoftheg-force4770
@g.masterlordoftheg-force4770 2 жыл бұрын
@@tashrif46 You mean “didn’t”? That ability, producing webs, simply wasn’t included. It’s quite random actually. For example, as you know, in the comics, Peter did not get webs from the Spider that bit him. However, did you know that the exact same spider that bit him also bit someone else before it died? It bit a girl called Cindy Moon AKA Silk (we have seen her in the MCU. Asian student). Cindy Moon, while being very similar to Peter, doesn’t have the same exact abilities. For example, not only can she produce webs, but she can use them from her fingertips. She is weaker, but faster and more agile. Her Spider-Sense is also more enhanced than his. Her powers are not the same, even though they received their abilities from the same exact spider. So, with this in mind, I never bothered to question why one Peter has webs, and the other doesn’t. It’s random, and it doesn’t follow the same rules, even if it was the same spider. By the way, the spider gave them powers because it was mystical. Yes, it accidentally got involved in an experiment and got blasted with radiation. But that was the only accident there. That spider was always meant to give Peter powers, with or without the accident. Although, in the movies, it probably is just a science experiment and nothing else.

Most of the stuff you pointed out during your reaction regarding plot are things that a lot of people had problems with, but despite a few issues, this was still a really good movie. I know when you first saw Tom Holland's Spider-Man, you may have had some confusion as to why we weren't getting an origin story, but after watching the movies that came before, you can see why they decided to skip over that. Spider-Man has traditionally been a quippy and cocky superhero as Spider-Man and a very nerdy kid as Peter Parker. I always felt Tobey was nerdy and awkward enough for Peter Parker, but not as good as Spider-Man, and Andrew was too cool for Peter Parker, but very good as Spider-Man. Tom Holland is a great mix between the two, and the fact that we get him when he is much younger and as a kid is a real treat.

The reason why the original trilogy and TASM1 were memorable, was because of the producer LAURA ZISKIN It was because of her and her husband (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the movies had depth She was the only one capable to tell AVI ARAD when to back off Unfortunately, she died in 2011, during the production of TASM1 Without her, there was no one to stop Arad from destroying the franchise Spiderman was nothing without her

Honestly, I loooved this movie more than a lot of other Marvel movies. I mean, with all the MCU ones being connected, it kinda forces them to all feel the same, you know? And with so many movies and tv shows coming out, the quality suffers and the over-reliance on worse and worse cgi becomes more and more apparent...

This movie came out in like 2011 I think, so they had to modernize it and make it more realistic as was the trend with super hero movies after Batman begins.

I love the visuals here in the amazing spider-man. I know its not realistic but its like living in 4K . Then the personality of Peter is so lively. Not too nerdy, not a show off just balance you know. The issue with this primarily is uncle ben. He didn't made much impact or atleast hit us emotionally. Because he's the main reason Peter became spider-man. Also gotta praise Emma Stone. She brought life to Gwen Stacy. She's helpful, caring, just a complete wife. Especially not annoying like MJ on Sam Raimi's spider-man lol.

I remember when this came out. As I commented on The 2002 Spiderman Reaction, Tobey Maguire was always my favorite Spidey. As an 80's kid, I grew up watching the Spiderman cartoons and I loved the character. After 9/11, i fell in love with the character all over again. When Sony released The Amazing Spiderman, I refused to watch it. There was no way Andrew Garfield could be as good as Tobey was a decade earlier. Heck, it was only a year before this when Sony officially canned production on Spiderman 4... I wanted my Tobey back slinging webs again!! Eventually I caved and watched it on Netflix (or maybe got the DVD from Netflix), and I was floored at how much I liked this depiction of Spiderman. I honestly felt guilty for liking this movie as much as I did. I even remember telling a friend that I think I liked it better than the 2002 version, and it felt so wrong. Tonight was my second time watching it ever, and man... as much as I loved it in 2013/2014 when I first saw it, I loved it even more tonight. I've never watched TASM2, but I'm about to queue that up and watch it with you 2 as well. Given that I've seen the entire MCU 5-10x per movie, I already know what happens, but I'm looking forward to my initial reactions.

One thing I appreciate about the MCU Spider-Man was they went “listen you all know the story by now, we don’t have to explain how he got the powers”. I think they mention it offhand once when Ned asks.

for me i just fell like this spiderman is very relatable. i saw how he struggled with doin d right thing (and applying his uncles last conversation with him). which as a young youth i find very relatable. he tried to do wats right by catching bad guys, then after d conversation with Gwens dad, tried reporting d matter to d police, then recall his words to gwen after being in her room after d lizards attack, he said "i have to fix this". he was really trying to do wat was right, may have made some mistakes along d way.

This Peter reacted more to the changes it seems. Tobey’s Peter barely reacted to them. When he got attacked by Flash, and sensed everything around him for the first time, he didn’t really seem freaked out about his new sixth sense. This Peter did though. That’s why it looked like he was tripping. By the way, Peter may not regenerate like the lizard, but he can still heal much faster than a normal human. Basically, anything a human’s body can do, his body does it way better, and then some.

ahhh i absolutely adore the andrew garfield movies!!! they're pretty underrated among the spidey-verse but to me they capture "spider-man's" essence from the comics the best,,, sure "peter" in these isnt as nerdy or humble enough but i like the take they took with his character... gwen is definitely the highlight of these movies and eventho the villians are a little weak peter/spidey's personal journey very well makes up for it imo. most people only prefer the tobey trilogy because of nostalgia factor. the mcu (tom) spiderman captures peter and spidey's characteristics pretty well, and eventho i dont agree with the whole "iron jr." thing people complain about i do feel like spiderman is the kind of character who actually wouldnt get along with iron man since their morals would clash (if peter knew what civil war was about he would have sided with cap js). andrew garfield from what i've seen in his interviews really cared about and understands the character, not to say the others didnt but he definitely deserves to have had his spiderman movie series continued after the second one... p.s. these movies weren't made with the multiverse aspect in mind. sony (who actually owned spiderman fully back then) had the habit of rebooting the franchise anytime the last of their current ones didnt do good enough financially or whtvr,,, these are now just retconned as part of the MCU because of the whole multiverse phase we're in... also to your point of how all spiderman movies end with a funeral, its just within the theme of spderman/peter parker as a character (comics) that he keeps losing people.

1:18:45 but now you both get why we didn't get that part for MCU spider-man, we didn't need it. MCU!Peter came with a 'pre-murdered uncle Ben' as HonestTrailer would say, and they skipped the first 6 months after he got his powers. So he's still inexperienced (also the youngest of all of them) but has already figured out his powers and wanting to be a superhero etc. And Ned finding out in the first movie let us get up to speed with this spider-man how hus origin and powers are the same etc.

I really enjoyed this movie when it came out. I felt like it was trying to not be as cheesy as the Raimi trilogy was and even the relationship was better here. But i agree Uncle Ben dying in the other one had more impact. This one didn't care enough about it to even resolve finding his killer. Other than that, it was a good movie and I loved the reaction (and cute dog!!)

This movie goes back and corrects to the original comic book story. In the original comic, he met Gwen Stacy in high school right when he got his powers. He didn't meet Mary Jane Watson until he was already in college. Also the web isn't a natural part of his radioactive spider induced mutation as it was in the earlier trio of movies. He had to use his knowledge of science to craft webbing and shooters to deliver it. Now the depiction of Aunt May in the earlier movies matched the comic drawing more, but I like the choice to go with a younger aunt and uncle here.
@antoniogonzales1976
@antoniogonzales1976 2 жыл бұрын
Thought of another comparison between this and the earlier movies as far as the origin story goes. The original story had Peter trying to win cash money in a fighting contest, as in the earlier films, but changed the story in this version, albeit with the nuts and bolts of the plot being his uncle dies and it is indirectly his fault.
