As a slot supervisor, I’ve seen many slot players break or crack the screen and panels by hitting/slapping it too hard. We will pretty much make them pay for the damage and evict them for a certain amount of time. Now if I’m walking the floor and do happen to see a player abusing the machine, I will tell them if you break it, you’ll pay for it.

I inadvertently left a ticket for $400 in a slot machine. A couple days later Security asked me if I lost a ticket, and I said yes. Whomever took it was tracked through ticket numbers and cameras, and was told to reimburse the money or be banned for life. I actually got all my money back. Amazing!

That happened to me. I dropped my $900 voucher, a person picked it up and cashed it. I gad reported it to lost and found. Security watched video saw me drop it, and was able to see the guy that picked it up. They contacted him, asked him to come to the casino. He had to replace the money. I was called by the casino to come in and collect my money. The guy was banned from the casino.

I dropped a ticket for 525 dollars a couple years ago. Casino security tracked down the person who saw me drop it and who cashed it in. They got my money back the same day! I was thrilled! A week later I found a 100 dollar bill in a slot where you insert money. I assumed someone had been distracted and forgotten to reinsert it. Knowing what I had gone through, I brought the bill to the cashier. Hopefully, they found the rightful owner. It was the right thing to do, no matter the result. Coincidentally, a week later I won a grand jackpot-$16,000 and change-on an 88 cent bet! Karma? I like to think so.

I was in vegas in January my husband went to bed early and I went to the floor to gamble. Off in a corner on my own at NY NY a young man came over and sat one machine over. He started chatting with me telling me to switch my bets up and down. I tried to ignore him and within 5 minutes a security guard came over and escorted him out of the casino. I was happy to know I was being watched and safe being on my own inside the big hotel. Great video thank you 🇨🇦

I work in casino Surveillance, and part of our duties is prioritizing. Unfortunately, people misplace their phones and they get taken on a constant basis in the casino. So most surveillance departments have thresholds for what they will review. Honestly, phones are at the bottom of the chain, if they’re even there at all. We will search for someone’s $500, we will investigate when you have issues with other patrons, we will look into dealers messing up your payout and make sure you get your money back, but I don’t know of many casinos that will use their resources on phones. We get so many calls as it is, we would be doing reviews of lost cell phones all day if we were to allow it. You may not like the answer, but having these thresholds makes the department run more efficiently.

I live in Shreveport used to work security and then surveillance. Dude is right. Our radio call was “300” any time I did anything or picked anything up off the ground I’d have to radio “4 to 300” they’re then gonna say “300 go ahead, “ and I’d have to have them legit watch me pick up chips money or whatever and hold it basically up and away from my body and drop it in a box to be claimed , if unclaimed money or chip or person couldn’t be verified , it would then go to the boat . (Our casinos are “boats” on water per state laws no table games allowed on land, that’s soon to change tho

Back in the 1980s, I worked as the only female barback ever at a major casino in Reno. I found out just how vigilant the casino’s surveilliance was the one time I decided to have a fling with a casino customer, a wonderfully charming and handsome Army Special Forces officer. After my shift, I went with him up to his room, still in my black and white uniform. I was never directly reprimanded, but I found out later from one of the bartenders that our department boss was immediately notified that I had spent the night in that customer’s hotel room! 😮The ”eye in the sky” doesn’t miss a thing…especially, as you point out, when it comes to casino employees! 😅

I love your tips. I actually just had a serious issue at caesars atlantic city where someone got a hold of my players card and went to a high end clothing store . They made 3 different purchases 70, 90, and 310 dollars. Spent nearly 500 of my 680.00 worth of reward credits. There is an current investigation in effect to get me my reward credits returned to me. Best part is I can't buy a soda without showing identification. But somehow this person got away with making 3 separate purchases Without being identified! Makes me think it was an inside job, or the employee was friends with the person who had my card. It's been roughly a week and they do keep me updated. But have yet to receive my credits back. I was in Vegas for this last New Years and we stayed at The Orleans. So whenever we stay at a hotel any where for just a few days we always put out the do not disturb sign. No need to be in our room, we clean up any messes we make and usually travel with our own towels...lol The last day we were there we were getting ready to go out and as we were opening our door security and some other guy knocked and was asking if we were ok. We told him yes and they left, it's the first time I have ever had that happen and I think it was because we didn't want anyone in our room.

Hey Brantley, I have a question about this. Annie and I had a different experience at Bellagio. We felt like surveillance was NOT there for our protection. We felt like they were there to protect the casino, and not the guests, and we had a false sense of security. Long story short, after we got robbed by a thief of over 1250 bucks, we felt they were analyzing us to see if we weren’t trying to commit fraud, and then they made us agree NOT to do a security report in exchange for Free Play. We went back a month later, saw the same thief doing the same thing, but we had no way to alert anyone because they made us agree not to do a report. Do you think this is an outlier event? Bottom line - we learned casino surveillance and security are there to protect the casino first and foremost. PS, I’m not challenging you? I’m just asking your thoughts.

Casinos have different things they will investigate. I can tell you that in my casino, we have never asked someone not to file a report, and we will absolutely investigate a robbery of that amount. @@sage2520 hi Sage. It’s all 100% accurate. No exaggeration. Here’s where it gets crazier. We went back a month later and saw the EXACT same person doing it again. He was standing between a bank of machines watching people, waiting for them to move. He stood there for over 10 mins. It was so obvious. But we had no report to prove it. I confronted the guy, drawing the attention of security and it gave me closure. But clearly the Bellagio security doesn’t give a damn. They let him back in there, even after seeing him on surveillance.

Yeah, that definitely sounds like a company-endorsed and coordinated "inside job". Did that non-disclosure agreement INCLUDE the state Gaming Control Board (it's technically NOT "security")? That's really f*cked up what they did to y'all, but it MIGHT be safer to just cut your losses and just never give them any more of your patronage. I've heard from multiple credible sources that the casinos are indeed owned by very VERY dangerous and powerful people, and often they go to some pretty extreme and "interesting" measures in dealing with anyone that tries causing them ANY kind of "problem" (or what THEY "interpret" as being a "problem" for them) Put it like this - Back when I used to work as a retail Loss Prevention Investigator, I was actively looking into get hired to be a Casino Surveillance Agent. But after I had spoke with some former casino employees in Vegas and the horror stories they were telling me about that actually happens sometimes behind closed doors to casino cheats, thieves, dishonest employees, anyone else they feel is "problematic" in their eyes, perpetrated by BOTH the security AND surveillance staff, I decided "Hell NO!", I didn't want ANY part of that. I'm all about dealing with crooks within the framework of the law, but some of what I was being told they WILL often do to these "crooks", would constitute as being "atrocities", gross human rights violations - really disturbingly BAD things to these people. I mean, I've gotten into plenty of brawls and uscuffles with combative shoplifters and that's one thing, but these casino employees take it to a whole other plateau altogether.

In the Flamingo, our room door was open. This was years ago. We called the Manager and asked him to see us. He asked why we didn’t call security. I told him that I go to the top. He refuted my statement. So I asked him how we got in our room without the key card. He still didn’t answer me. So I said maybe the Las Vegas police department would be interested. So finally got him to at least look into the matter. Finally he gave us the money that was stolen. Much later that day I might add. Returning home I wrote to Conrad Hilton about the way we were treated by that manager, as well as several instances that took place at the Hilton in Savannah two months before. We received a letter from the same, an apology and a 3 night stay in a suite in both Las Vegas and Savanna! He certainly knew how to handle his customers. Again this was many years ago. My husband passed away in 2015. But even many years ago I knew that they could tell from the log whose key card was used.

At San Manuel Indian Casino (now Yaamava Casino) in Highland, CA, my girlfriend used to have some rich friends who played the $5 machines right behind the machines we played all the time. When they hit jackpots, they would call my girlfriend over to sit at the machine and claim the jackpot because they didn't want to pay taxes. They would give her 20% of their winnings. I watched this happen at least 7-8 times and she would give me a lucky $20 out of her cut. The casino never noticed evidently. So my question is: Do Indian casinos follow the same Security procedures you mentioned of checking to see if the person who pushed the button was the one to get the jackpot? This was in the 1990's.

Obviously I said yes and in that conversation the representative asked for my number and gave me her card so that if I wanted to make a reservation, could call her directly. Adaptive gaming, also known as adaptive slots, is a controversial technology that some casinos use to adjust the odds of winning on their slot machines based on a player's behavior and betting patterns. The idea behind adaptive gaming is that the casino can use data collected through player tracking to identify players who are likely to continue gambling even after experiencing losses, and then adjust the odds of winning on the machines those players are using in order to increase the likelihood that they will continue to gamble and lose more money.

@@jacomans9078 it’s also a big situation if you claim it and you didn’t trigger the bonus. Essentially, that person is lying, because that jackpot has to get reported for tax purposes. If at any point anyone suspects the jackpot winner of seat swapping with someone else, I get a call to do a review. It’s a huge thing, I have to submit paperwork, their name, the person’s name they swapped with, that gets sent to compliance, it’s just a bigger hassle than it’s worth.

@@HGSlots346 If you were present at the machine at the time your friend hit the jackpot they MAY have paid you. Depends on the casino and/or other circumstances. Tipping slot attendants is optional. It's not like tipping a server in a restaurant who is relying on tips as a major part of their income. Tips are typically shared with a lot of employees at the casino so you are not just tipping that person. A lot of people who get frequent hand pays will tip 1% as a general guideline. You can always tip more if you want to be generous or you can not tip at all if you're not.
