Wow. The graphic design in this game is really well done. The iconography, the symbology, the color scheme, the color coded cards, the information in the mats, etc. they are all really well thought out, top notch design. I know of many games that could benefit from a fraction of it.

+Watch It Played Yesterday we had a little argue playing the game. The rule dispute was. I had "Mountain Giant" (this monster count as a leader) and my regular leader in the same province. I initiated a pillage. And i won. But on my clan sheet i also had the leader upgrade card: "Lord of Spears" (If you successfully pillage with your leader, raise all your clan stats by 1") And here is where the conflict start. I think i should have first the reward for winning the pillage. But also dubble reward of the card "Lord of spears". Because i have 2 leaders in the same winning battle. However they didn't because the card says "leader" not "leaders". But that's is because you normally can't have 2 leaders at the same time. This is an exclusive combination. So what do you think Rodney Smith?

Previously, I was an avid collector of, what would now be considered, "vintage" board games, primarily from the era of my childhood in the '70s and into the '80s, although I do have a few from the decades on either side of those. With the rise in popularity of computer/video gaming in the '90s and '00s, I had presumed that board gaming had become a lost art. How wrong I was and I've been delighted to see that it has not only survived but is absolutely thriving and becoming increasingly popular. I've certainly got some lost time to make up for. Got this with the fifth player expansion and the Mystics Of Midgard expansion for Christmas. Looks like a lot but it's actually very easy once you get the hang of it. Hey Rodney, Thanks for the instructional video - made my first few games much easier to get started!!! So far the game is very fun!! A couple of rules clarification questions please: 1. Can a ship pillage from an adjacent fjord without another of his own units in the province? 2. If you are replacing an upgrade (specifically one that reduces upgrade costs) does the replaced upgrade take effect first? ie. can you pay a reduced cost to buy the upgrade that will be replacing the card that reduces the cost (i hope this makes sense). 3. I believe you can take multiple quests (no more than 2 the same) and if you complete them you gain all bonuses - can you confirm this? In one of our games we had 1 player take 2 blue province quests and 1 valhalla death quest and complete them all - we think this was legal and we gave him the total glory + 3 upgraded stats - did we do this right? 4. Can a player force the end of an age (even if other members have rage left) by pillaging the last unpillaged province? Thanks for any and all advice/answers! Chris

great video, learned a lot from this. some questions, 1) do I lose monster figure on board if I discard it's upgrade card? 2) If someone calls for pillage in one of provinence where my figure is in, do I must participate in the battle? or can I back off? 3) so after battle when playing additional boost card, can I pass my first turn then play my card later if it comes back to me?(like pillaging) 4) do I get axe stat from pillage then glory points from winning battle or the other way?

1) Yes. 2) If you're already there, you are in the fight! 3) Yes. 4) If the player who initiated the Pillage wins the battle, they have successfully pillaged the province and gain the Pillage Reward indicated in the Pillage token. If the pillaging player does not win the battle, the province is not pillaged and nobody gets the Pillage Reward. Any player (including the pillager) can try again later in the phase to pillage the province. Then whoever won the battle (whether they initiated it or not), gains glory points equal to their current Axes stat.

excellent video. I really enjoyed it. Gave a good sense of how to get started on the game. I would have liked a brief look into some of the card abilities and get a sense of the depth of the drafting. Overall wonderful and if I ever get the game I would certainly ask everyone to watch this video before playing

Thanks for the How To! I love how crisp and clean your instructionals are, very easy to follow and understand. I'm more of a learn by doing person and if directions aren't done right then I'm just lost. I was wondering; would it be possible for you to do a video on Fury of Dracula (3rd ed.)? I got it a month ago and read the books and still don't really get it. I get the sense of it being a Letters from Whitechapel/Eldritch Horror hybrid. It would be awesome to see this on How To Play.
