On several occasions, Pep paid for brick when he could have obtained 1 brick from the Great Lighthouse. I think he completely forgot that that wonder provided that benefit to him.
@WatchItPlayed9 жыл бұрын
+Larry Schneider I'd be interested to get a time stamp where you saw this happen. Typically, when we make a rules mistake of that level, we get several comments. Yours was the first I've seen related to that.
@LarrySchneider9 жыл бұрын
+Watch It Played I'll try to watch it again tomorrow and see if I can find some of those slip ups.
@LarrySchneider9 жыл бұрын
+Watch It Played Actually, I ended up staying up way too late and just finished watching it, Rodney. Here are my corrections (all from this 3rd video): 2:56 Pep is entitled to take 7 Gold for discarding the Siege Workshop, not 6. But he discovers this mistake later in the video. 3:36 Pep pays 4 for the Arsenal when he should have only paid 2. 5:43 Pep pays 3 for the Circus when he should have only paid 1. 7:14 Pep pays 2 for the Tactician’s Guild when he should have only paid 1. 8:32 Pep pays 2 for the Armory when he should have only paid 1. 9:28 Pep pays 2 for the Obelisk when he should have only paid 1. 10:13 Pep pays 2 for the Gardens when he should have gotten for free. So in the end, Pep overpaid by 9 coins, all due to the fact that he consistently forgot about the benefit from his Great Lighthouse. I don't think it would have changed the outcome of the game, but it's worth noting in the video.
@WatchItPlayed9 жыл бұрын
+Larry Schneider Wow! You're right Larry. He did forget (and so did I). And more people would have likely seen it, if we could have gotten the far side of his wonders into the shot.

+Watch It Played Usually when I play with the Great Lighthouse or the one other wonder that provides resources, I ensure that those two wonders are positioned adjacent to my brown and gray decks so that all the resource icons abut one another and make it easier to see what you have.

I did not expect Rodney to win this game in the end, that was quite a shock, I really thought Pep was going to win for sure given that every move he made throughout the game was beneficial for him and his strength in science, military and commerce at the end. I also thought it was hilarious that the narrative for Pep's civilization is that it flourished in science with the scientists going berserk and joining the military, which led to its utter downfall. Overall, great gameplay series as usual, it was extremely entertaining with funny outtakes. I bet Pep was somewhat disappointed at the end result.

The rulebook says "If you gather 6 different scientific symbols, immediately win" But at 4:54 Pep has one pair and 3 single scientific symbols. So ideally he should be getting 2 more different symbols to win right? Or is the pair counted as 2 symbols?

You always play the games in your videos without sleeves, but I recall hearing you say that you like to keep your games as pristine as possible and that you sleeve your games. Do you sleeved this one after the video? It's a game that have some shuffle action. And if you do, how do you store it in the box? Sadly, the cool insert that comes in the box doesn't accommodate sleeved cards.

Hi! I have a question about the calculation. How do you calculate the swords (red background, with two crossed swords? And also what does the red and green symbol (at the bottom of the calculation paper) means?
@WatchItPlayed8 жыл бұрын
Hey Christoffer - at the end of the game, you get victory points based on where the war token ended up (if it is in your opponents half of the war track. You'll see this explained in our instructional video. I'm not exactly sure what those sections of the score sheet are for. I thought perhaps you checked them off if a player had a Military or Science victory - just as a way of keeping track of games you played.

Hi guys, I have a question. What card do you use to out under your wonder when you build it? From what I gather, you grab a card that you would discard rather than one that goes towards building the wonder?
@WatchItPlayed7 жыл бұрын
Right, you choose a card from the display as normal, but instead of paying it's cost, you pay the Wonders cost and then slip that card face down underneath the wonder as an indicator that the Wonder has been constructed.
@FrankMinogue7 жыл бұрын
If you pick up an accessible age card and it has resources on it, can you use those resources in the building of your Wonder? Or do you have to have the cost(ed) of the Wonder available in the cards you already have?

@matkolendler32357 жыл бұрын
When you draw a card from the table, you can either build that card/building, you can put it under the wonder and build that wonder, or you can sell that card for money, my question is, can you sell a guild card (3 purple ones in the third age ) for money?? And another question, can you put the guild card under a wonder to build it just like other age cards?
@WatchItPlayed7 жыл бұрын
Understood - yes a Guild card can be used just like any other card.
@nicogamesnow9 жыл бұрын
Interesting. While playing, did you feel like you could afford any resources necessary? It seems like between the commerce and guild cards, you had so much money you didn't even NEED half of the resources you had. This seems very different from standard 7 Wonders where you could easily back yourself into a corner if you didn't get enough resources.
