at 22:48 Jen trashes the science card to build the appian way and afterwards takes military :)

Great playthrough, as always. At 6:08, the fact that Jen plays twice due to the wonder does not actually give her an extra card; it just changes the order in which the two of you draw the last 4 cards. Given the cards and your strategy, her double play would actually end up to your advantage if you take the lumber. :-)

Just a newbie question for anyone who can answer to..at 22:09, why would he need 6 coins to pay for the military card when Jen only have 1 brick? Am I correct that he only needs to pay 5 coins for it?
@PauloRenato238 жыл бұрын
Richard needs to buy 2 bricks since he doesn't produce any... the cost of buying resources is as follows: COST = 2 + number of symbols of the same resources produced by the brown and grey cards (not yellow) of the opposing city (unlimited purchases, paid to bank) So, 2+1=3 since he needs 2 bricks he has to pay 6 coins to the bank

3:14 - Shouldn't you have payed 2 coins for the military card, since Jen generates lumber? (2 coins - 1 for your yellow card + 1 for Jen's lumber card = 2 coins)

+Jonathan G. the wood reserve makes every wood bought by the player that owns it cost 1 coin... it overrides the normal buying rules

Oh yes, that makes sense!

Couple of errors. Science is 6 symbols for the win, so should have grabbed law. Theology does not give you another turn, it adds that symbol to your future wonders.

Are the "Guild" cards shuffled into the third age, or do they placed per the diagram?

Pet peeve: saying "bucks" or "dollars" for game currency. Tom Vasel does the same.

in american english, buck is slang for money. sorry to say, i'm american :)

@@rahdo Respectfully, I have the same peeve, and "coin" is slang for money too, isn't it? But I do take your point. ; ) That said and out of the way, I do want to let you know it is a good video, and I thank you for making it, I just wish I watched it BEFORE I bought the game, because honestly, it is waaay too complicated for my liking. Maybe my 11 y.o. nephew is right, we should just go back to playing Sushi Go and Uno, they're just incredibly boring for me. : ( I mean, you are doing a great job explaining things, but just looking at the comments, there are still a lot of things that people don't fully understand, myself included. I suppose it starts to make better sense once you start playing the game(which we did, getting through the First age as best we could), but at the same time, how can one play the game correctly, as it is supposed to be played, without really understanding the rules? Before we even played, I spent 20 minutes reading the rules, aloud for both of us, and now I have watched three video tutorials on how to play, and I still have questions, things that I'm not clear on. It's almost like having to take a class just to learn how to play the game. No, I'm not lazy or stupid, but I do think it is a bit much. Anyway, forgive my rant, I'm just frustrated about the game being so intricate and complicated. I wanted a strategic/thinking game, but this is a bit too much, not just for an 11-year-old, but also for myself.

I so would have trashed the science to keep that from you and risk you getting the military. There would be more military in next age!
