Ok, this is very cool. Think of all the minis that we have from all the kickstarters. I going to pick up some new wizards, but for the villans, I am all set. Rodney! Very creative choice!

Great video - am going to pick up a copy of the book from my FLGS Entoyment who are starting a campaign from Saturday. I a!ready have some minis i can use from Davenport but they are unpainted - do you think that matters?
@WatchItPlayed6 жыл бұрын
It's all up to you! I like using painted minis, but I've very behind in my painting. As long as you can tell the difference between teams though, there shouldn't be any problem using unpainted minis.

Can you play this just as a roleplaying game ?
@WatchItPlayed Жыл бұрын
The game has role playing elements, but this is a miniatures war game, not a game where a GM guides the players through a story.

Yes, this was created before a second edition existed.

im just writing up my first warband and can someone explain the use of a dagger over a sword?
@WatchItPlayed4 жыл бұрын
This is less of a rules question, and more of a design question, so I'm not sure I can help with that, but maybe someone else can. Have fun playing!
@oldschooloverlord3 жыл бұрын
I know this is really late, but generally where their is the option of a dagger it's as an extra weapon that increases the model's fight skill by +1. Some Soldiers (like the thief) only have a dagger as standard, and they deal -1 damage because of it.

@@JonathanRenfrogamer Googling, I found this: ospreypublishing.com/gaming-resources-frostgrave?___store=osprey_ca - it does look like their first edition resources require requested access now. That's on the publisher side though, so I don't know how to help further with that, sorry.

Looks like fun but I am opposed on principle to any fantasy game in which all the figures are portrayed as male. It's not a historical game so why not female soldiers? (Also, there have been, historically, female soldiers, just not as many). Boo hiss.
@joemccullough20666 жыл бұрын
A new plastic box set of female soldiers is coming to Frostgrave in a couple of months. And there are lots of female figures in the metal miniatures line. The artwork in the game itself is pretty balanced male/female.
@WatchItPlayed6 жыл бұрын
In addition to what Joe says, I am partly to blame! The miniatures I had painted up were very male focused (though at a distance, it might be hard to tell that the Summoner apprentice is female). Either way the game's cover prominently shows a male and female wizard doing battle and the game is entirely agnostic about the kinds of miniatures you use, so the entire battlefield could be of any gender, and the game would support it. I'm jazzed to hear there is a boxed set of female solider options coming too!
@JackieFox19766 жыл бұрын
Thanks for replying, guys! I was responding more to the artwork in the book. As shown at least, all the characters were male. I respond mostly to gameplay, theme, etc. when choosing games, but I also look for female representation as I think it's important for male gamers to see. I think it helps them see women and girls as gamers, too, which helps make gaming more welcoming for us. Thanks for being people who care about this, too!
@PMMagro6 жыл бұрын
Just use some, my friend has an all female warband. The game has no such limits (or rules).
@JackieFox19766 жыл бұрын
Yes, thank you! I was responding more to the artwork (it would be nice if it were more inclusive). But it still looks like a lot of fun. And it would be hilarious if someone made their entire war band various Barbies or Bratz dolls!
