It doesn't look like the cam adjuster magnet's (on the cam bridge) circle seal at 24:09 is oriented correctly. That part has a taper that has to match the profile of the bridge.

Also he probably didn’t change the o-ring on the magnet which always leaks if not changed. I am glad it started, he got lucky no bent valves!

on bentley or audi, if you unplug something the car REMEMBERS and it will give you passive codes - even if you have already plugged them back in and started the car. it is ok to clear passive codes and see if they come back.

Audi with worn hood strut.. typical. So nice they replaced the timing belt with a chain, so it's not a maintenance item anymore. But you do need to change it, it's just more expensive, more complicated and harder to get to. Jonny is the best, always smiling!

MY B8.5 A4 had the chain stretch until that tensioner was fully extended, and actually got bad enough to throw a CEL. Only had 75k miles, so was actually still under warranty Had the manual transmission, was a fun car for what it was

Had an A5 any work required service position... Change inlet manifold... Step 1 remove the front end of the car... Change headlight bulb... Step 1 remove font end... Great cars though at least they rarely break

15/16ths is 23.8125mm so works on 24mm. 1 1/16th is 26.9825mm. You don’t need both metric and SAE when you get to the larger sizes (for the most part). Even 7/8 usually works on 22mm and 19mm and 3/4 is 19.005mm.

@@WatchJRGous parts prices are wild sometimes. For 150€ I can get a Dayco Name brand chain kit with basically the same parts (minus valves) or pay 52€ for chain, guides and tensioner only from Schaeffler Ina which are the Audi OEM.

With new timing chains the engine ECU has to be reseted and the new values are than teached to the ECU. This last ca. 60-80mi and the car should be driven in that time all revs.

What piss me off is that i own a Chinese no name crossover since 2014 with 235km with its original timing chain and tensioners heck even its original clutch and ac compressor. Yet audi chooses to design weak timing chains and design the engine in such way that whole fascia had to be off. Only german car would/want to own are only W124.

Putting the cam locks in because somebody f’d up and didn’t put them in before removing the chain tension. Could have saved time and eliminated the danger of injury to self or damaging parts by doing it the correct way.
