Beautiful…sooooo sweet! Now I can concentrate on learning the notes instead of getting totally distracted by the song, it’s one of my favorites of all their songs! I’ve even used the lyrics For I have dined on honeydew and cranked the milk of paradise…” on an unsuspecting co worker who had no clue, so hilarious! This is soooo beautiful.

This is the Doubleneck. Can’t believe how much fret buzz there is - almost every note! Don’t hear in the track though. I used to do some recording and producer would make me punch in to fix the slightest fret buzz. Chump! Sounds great as-is in the track!!

Frobiwan1965 I have a 4003 and it’s got a buzz to probably because it’s older but i like it.

Ricks are the one bass I've ever played or heard that just sound better with fret buzz. Any other bass and they sound like garbo. Ricks, it just adds zing in the high end

I am still baffled as to how you got these tracks, I have the 5.1 versions, I have extracted all the tracks and imported them in to my DAW and there isn't any track with isolated bass and synth, there is only a track for isolated subwoofer frequencies strictly under 80hz (virtually inaudible to the ear). The center channel for me has vocals, bass, some drums and guitar solos.
@watchmakerfs4 жыл бұрын
I had the 5.1 version of the album in flac format. So what I did was import them to Vegas Pro 14 and the 6 tracks showed up, so I took this one out of it.
@StickHits4 жыл бұрын
@@watchmakerfs Me too lol, may I ask where you got it? Certain box set?
@watchmakerfs4 жыл бұрын
I don't remember man, but I think it was the first 5.1 version, not this new box set that came out recentely.

All these tracks sound so thin on their own but the music doesn't sound THAT thin. Do they boost the bass in the mix, or put in a lot of kick drum or something?
@watchmakerfs7 жыл бұрын
No, evey track in the mix sounds different alone than in the context of the mix, plus the analog summing process after a mix is done change harmonics and dynamics, in this case, there is also the sound of the analog tape machine which adds more harmonics and a little bit of compression.
@VintageMdrummer6 жыл бұрын
Don’t listen to this through an iPhone, listen on a vintage hi-fi system pumping out 200 W per channel with .003 total harmonic distortion.

Not to take anything from my hero, Geddy, but Neil carries a ton in Rush's songs, not to mention a guitar and vocals fill out every song. Incredible that 3 guys can reproduce stuff like this live...
@Earthandweather6 жыл бұрын
youtert Listening to just the bass of a song takes some getting used to...It sounds a bit thin...a little stark / sterile. It has been a revelation to me to hear “mistakes” on recordings that I admire so much. It has helped me manage my expectations for my own playing.
@jackpast2 жыл бұрын
@@tbdmn83 but Alex can concentrate on his effects and guitar. How Geddy plays that bass and sings all the while why stepping on Moog pedals…wow.

@@watchmakerfs I know! Although I feel like my right had technique is getting better (I'm practicing a shit ton lol) my left hand falls short. If I don't get my left hand tech together I feel like my hand is going to fall off lol. (This is also probably the best isolated track ever btw. thanks for posting)
