Watchmaking VLOG - Practising on the Main Spring

The whole point of my channel was to document my watchmaking journey from the beginning. I bought a Seagull ST3600 movement to practise on and develop the basic skills I know that I need.
In today's VLOG I practise removing and refitting the MainSpring Arbor.

I am learning myself while watching all of your videos (just finished the step-by-step disassembly!)...what great info! Onto lubing and reassembly next. I'm planning to do a NH35 after getting more comfortable with the ST36. The slo-mo was awesome! 😄

I am learning on the exact same movement. I'm so glad you posted this. My spring went flying also when trying to remove the center arbor. I didn't take a picture and could not remember which way the spring wound or even how to start hand winding a spring. Awesome!

Well THANK YOU, I'll take that as a compliment - but NO. If you read the description on just about every video I have posted (you did read it, right?) you would know that the whole point of my channel was to document my watchmaking journey from the beginning. Marshall's channel does not do that, and neither does he have VLOG videos like this one. I don't think Marshall has any Alarm Clock videos (you watched those, right?) - and quite frankly, Marshall is a lot better than me. I hope one day to be able to do some of the things he does, and my channel is all about the journey to get there. Where the channel will go after that, who knows? I'm just going to keep doing things that interest me. There might be some similarities in look and feel of the videos - if you watch more than 1 watchmaking channel, you're going to get that.
