Nice to know I'm not the only one who prefers Spider-Man Homecoming to Coco. Yeah I liked it but wasn't as invested as a lot of the other Pixar movies and I know Spider-Man Homecoming is anything spectacular compared to Coco, heck I doubt it would be compared to Dunkirk (which I haven't seen) like that but everyone is entitled to their own opinion right? There is no right or wrong answer? Heck I think Spider-Man Homecoming is better than the Sam Raimi movies. Others would disagree but again, entitled to our own opinion.

Yes. See Shape of Water based on your list. Amazingly executed, heartfelt, and in line with your taste from what I see. BR 2049 was brilliant, but if you truly love indie cinema the following are also recommended: Good Time, Killing of a Sacred Deer The Beguiled and even a Canadian production called Hounds of Love (which is streaming).
