The person who created the mafia as we knew it and know it was not Al Caponi. In fact, he was thrown out of New York for his behavior. The person that created the mafia that we know was Charlie lucky Luciano. Capone murdered somebody or had something to do with a murder that was so heinous that they kicked him out of the city and sent him to Chicago. He did not create the mafia.

Griselda Blanca’s youngest son did an interview for Evil lives Here about his time being raised by his mom. Unlike many of his family he didn’t ended up in the family business and is the last Blanco (which is the name of the episode if anyone is interested. By how Griselda tried to keep him in the dark about her crimes I got the feeling that’s what she wanted for her youngest son.

@@maverickedmondson5229 oh well it was still a good episode of evil lives here to watch. Only episode involving a kingpin of the drug cartel, or in this case queenpin. Most episodes are extreme child abusers, child molesters, rapist, evil occultist, and different types of killers, but Blanco is the only one in the drug business mentioned (so far). Of course there’s shadow of death and Killer Speaks too but I haven’t seen all those episodes yet

This clever and biting line captures the wit and sharpness that makes pop culture references so entertaining. The jab at Johnny Depp’s portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow, layered with Al Capone's notorious reputation, creates a playful clash between two very different "outlaws." It’s the kind of humor that balances swagger with satire, reminding us why such cultural crossovers leave a lasting impression-they blend history, fiction, and comedy in ways that keep us thinking and laughing.

So many people were making their own alcohol one way or another. In my hometown, Fall River, MA, almost every backyard had a vineyard used to make "grape juice" which could be turned into wine and brandy. Also, some peach trees for brandy and of course alot of ceramic crocks used for beer. People sold their hooch to the neighbors often exchanging for other stuff or services like car repairs, etc. The underground economy, as it was called, flourished. And Fogland, a river area nearby was good cover for smuggling liquor. One story is that's one source of the Kennedy fortune.

Karla holmolka is so vile that I even side with Jack the Ripper more. Most likely bc jack was meant to be feared and hated so he gets a pass, but coming from a woman who was once a loving sister turned into a serial killer all bc of a man she falls for is unforgivable. Jack given that he's in his 30-40 in 1890s so he's dead right now so he poses no threat while Karla gets to enjoy a free life of shrimp cocktail, a dirty martini and a family who is innocent

The world's first hijacker - D B Cooper. The Great train Robber ~ Ronald Biggs. The Missing Lord ~ Lord Lucan. Plus, there's a few revolutionaries / terrorist / warlords who kinda belong on here, although the Mex Cartel people fall into almost the same category. I'm an Australian. I'd nominate Ned Kelly. Like several famous robbers, he donated much of his spoils to the poor people, making him quite a hero in many quarters. Al Capone ~ he wasn't just a crim, or a gangster, he was the worst possible kind of threat because he became a sort of alternative government. Capone infected and corrupted everything. He had his strings and levers in the running of all levels of government, police, legal system. He didn't just donate to charities, he organised soup kitchens, and had competent people run them, and he paid for them. He was rapidly becoming the warlord of an independent country, called Chicago. This is why they had to get law enforcement people who were completely removed, the untouchables. That's what Arlen Ness was ~ he was US Secret Service. If you wanted the Electricity back on, you called Capone's Organisation, and they would see to it. He was literally taking over the running and management of Chicago. He was a threat to the Sate and Federal government in a way a ganster or bootlegger virtually never has been before or since.

@@robirvine6970 Yes, but he escaped, and he stayed escaped and one step ahead of the law for years ~ and that adventure played out on the front pages of the world's papers. All of these criminals were sociopaths who's super power was their faith that no matter what they did, nothing bad was going to happen. Inconveniences perhaps, but if careful they will escape any stark consequences. In a few cases, they were mostly right (Luciano, for example), but eventually either the law caught up to them, or their criminal rivals.
