The actor that played the doorman that hated Jerry (Larry Miller) was originally thought to be a shoe-in to play George due to his close relationship to Jerry and Larry in real life, but Jason Alexander’s late audition won him the part

All, maybe except Kramer, are supposed to have siblings. Elaine and Jerry have a sister each and George has a brother. Also, the actors playing George's and Jerry's fathers were replaced. Also, Kramer's name was originally Kessler in the pilot, but was corrected in a later season, in the episode that goes backward; where they all go to India for a wedding. At the end of that episode they show how Jerry and Kramer meet as Jerry is moving into the apartment and Kramer comes in to say hi. Jerry says, "you must be Kessler." Kramer then says, "it's Kramer actually."

Friends has more heart and is equally funny
@sagarsaxena63183 жыл бұрын
@@trapez77 Friends's "heart" is quiet pretentious and the show relies heavily on the joke after joke format. Rachel,Monica,Ross all crack jokes while organically it feels right only when Chandler is doing that else the jokes should've been more contextual. It's funny but not in the same way as "Seinfeld","Seinfeld" also takes the bigger risk of not siding with it's characters and constantly showing them in bad light while "Friends" takes the high road. Joey & Chandler leave a baby on the bus and then pick the wrong baby,Rachel gives a job to a good looking guy only coz he's good looking,off camera Joey throws the wooden leg of one of his girlfriends and never calls her back,etc. Clearly they are not good people. The ensemble is nice only to each other and that's what you see on camera so we keep going "aww". But it's just sanitization. "Friends" never owns up to it's character flaws unless it wants to make a joke out of it. "Seinfeld" 's humor on the other hand,is much more organic and it makes no claims of it's characters being 'nice'. They also take more risks inspite of being some years earlier than "Friends",with plotlines around homosexuals,Lesbian wedding,Nazis,etc.

They interviewed the writers for this show and one of writers said they wrote a show where Jerry met a Spanish lady that works at the United Nations. Jerry was so impressed that he started telling everyone about his new girlfriend. Jerry noticed that his new girlfriend was frequently leaving in the middle of the night to go to the U.N. and she wouldn't tell him why. One night she was leaving, she told him that "there's a spill at the U.N." -- it turns out that she was a cleaning lady at the U.N. building. Larry David didn't like it so they didn't make it. The reason Al Yeganeh (the soup man) wasn't too thrilled was because he's an Iranian Jew, so he really didn't much like the "Nazi" comparison. Did you know that the Soup Nazi episode wasn't the first time Yeganeh was referred to onscreen? Rosie O'Donnell's character has a line about him in Sleepless in Seattle. And he later launched his own line of boxed soups called "The Real Soup Man" with the slogan "Soup for You!" They did quite well.

Inchon Korea, 1950. I was the best cook Uncle Sam ever saw, slinging hash for the Fighting 103rd. As we marched north, our supply lines were getting thin. One day a couple of GI's found a crate, inside were 600 lbs of prime Texas steer. At least it once was prime. The use date was 3 weeks past, but I was arrogant, I was brash, I thought if I used just the right spices, cooked it long enough...I went too far. I over seasoned it. Men were keeling over all around me. I can still hear the retching, the screaming. I sent 16 of my own men to the latrines that night. They were just boys. Bobby Colby, all that kid wanted to do was go home. Well he went home alright, with a crater in his colon the size of a cutlet. Had to sit him on a cork the 18 hour flight home! @Carol Pitt Seinfeld was overrated and never really that funny. Season 8 was its only really good season. As far as sitcoms from the 90s, it doesn’t hold a candle to Frasier

Three times a year I do a Seinfeld Marathon. I still laugh at the lame jokes and what not. 😂

The pilot of Seinfeld was the only episode that doesn’t start with the word “The”. It’s titled “unmale bonding” & features a comment about the top button of a shirt just like the last episode when they’re sitting in the jail cell. The entire show run was one long setup for that punchline. Genius

just in case, it was right after the pilot (pilot was The Seinfeld Chronicles) and was called Male-Unbonding...sorry I had too much time on my hands & just knew these things

The Stranded episode is only in the order where it is supposed to be on the DVDs, in season two. Not the original airing on NBC, not on Hulu or Netflix, or the listing of episodes on IMDb. Male Unbonding, by the way, is supposed to be the official second episode, based on the DVD.

Who else has friendships where the very fiber of that friendship is being able to constantly speak in "seinfeld"?

Of course.

I don't. What I do have is the ability to piss off a specific friend because almost every day when there's a random occurrence or conversation, I respond with "This reminds me of an episode of Seinfeld where..."

In 1991, Lawrence Tierney shot at his nephew in a drunken rage. He was released from jail for a day to continue filming Reservoir Dogs, and then Tarantino never worked with him again.
