GMD was the first new Disney animated movie I remember seeing in theatres! Once I got past that dumb jump scare in the first 3 minutes of the film, I just fell in love with it. It helped that we had a basset hound at home and the movie had Toby as a fun side character. Later in life, I came to appreciate the character dynamic between Basil and Rattigan (the latter in which VIncent Price seemed to be having the time of his life doing the VA work for). Still one of my 5 personal favorite Disney animated movies.

Hey! You must include Oliver and Company and Wish in this list! Wish may miss a few important things that how the movie could be a beloved classic, like how Magnifico should be a classic-like Disney Villain, it still teaches some valuable lessons, mainly Be Careful What You Wish For (as Asha made a wish for people she loved but only causes a big chaos that she should think or expect) and Think Twice or Thrice Wisely Before You Made a Decision (as Magnifico, being overprotective of his kingdom, unwisely used the forbidden spell without patience and careful thinking, only became a cursed and corrupted man). If this list included Pixar, here's what I would've done: - A Bug's Life (1998): Definitely overlooked due to it being sandwiched between the releases of Toy Story and Toy Story 2, and due to the similar Antz movie from DreamWorks also released in 1998. However, it truly is among Pixar's most underrated. Randy Newman's music is phenomenal, Flik has a great character arc from a magnet for chaos to a courageous ant who inspires everyone to stand up to Hopper, the circus bugs (especially Heimlich) provide plenty of laughs, and Hopper's villainous monologue is chilling. - Cars (2006): While the sequels are divisive among fans, the first movie is still solid. Lightning McQueen's character arc is great, the town of Radiator Springs is greatly inspired by plenty of real life Route 66 landmarks, and plenty of other nods to real life racing, namely Richard Petty voicing Strip "The King" Weathers. - Monsters University (2013): While not quite as good as the OG Monsters Inc, this film is more than deserved. The world building is as good as it was in the original. Plus, the way Mike and Sulley's characters build off of each other makes them all the more relatable. Go watch Rockotar's video on Monsters University, because he describes it better than I could. - The Good Dinosaur (2015): It was certainly overshadowed due to it being released the same year as Inside Out. However, it offers some very stunning and photorealistic animation. Arlo and Spot do have an interesting dynamic as well. - Onward (2020): It's unfortunate that this film's theatrical run was short lived due to COVID, even though I did see it in theaters. However, this is a fun movie with a great dynamic relationship between brothers Ian and Barley, voiced by two MCU costars Tom Holland and Chris Pratt. Plus, their mother Laurel is a wonderful supporting character, voiced by Julia Louis-Dreyfus. This marks Julia's first Pixar role in 22 years, last doing Princess Atta in A Bug's Life.

“The Hunchback of Notre Dame” is easily one of my top five Disney films, and one of my top five favorite films overall. It’s emotionally resonant, thematically rich, musically compelling, and Quasimodo is my favorite Disney hero. The only thing that tops the film is the stage adaptation, which draws more from the original Victor Hugo novel. If Disney was ever to do a live-action iteration of “Hunchback” (and believe me, I would love to see that), I really think they should base it on the musical. Songs like “Esmeralda”, “Top of the World”, “Made of Stone”, and “In a Place of Miracles” would be so amazing on the big screen.

Some of these Disney animated titles definitely deserve A LOT MORE praise than they were initially given during their release. The Black Cauldron, Atlantis, Treasure Planet. Those were awesome flicks. I know some analysts believed that these movies didn't do well at the box office because in the former two's case, a PG rating is an automatic bomb for a Disney animated film. Whereas the latter? They thought it was a bland rehashing of a classic novel into a space theme. List goes on over why audiences weren't buying them much.
