I will never forgive the writers for what they did to Jamie and his Lady Knight. Jamie had grown so much as a character. He had outgrown his feelings for Cersei. Arya killing the Night King was an insult to fans and proof Dan and Dave were hacks. Rarely was I on Cersei's side, but what she did to Ellaria and her daughter was justice. They both had a hand in killing Cersei's daughter, who was one of the truly innocent people on the show.

I can disagree with that sentiment towards Arya. If you go back a few seasons earlier when she first encountered the Red Women. The Red Women prophesied that she would close 3 eyes forever, one of them being blue. This was a very good foreshadowing, and the fact that she used the dagger that was meant to kill her brother was quite fitting. Now, albeit, the last few seasons felt rushed, and was missing depth such as the first few seasons... But that's what happens when you lack creativity. Look at the murderous job that Amazon did with Tolkien's works with over a $1 billion budget with the Rings of Power, it's definitely not Tolkien... When they were writing the shows based off of the Books from Martin, they started off doing a very good job. When they ran out of source material to work with you can begin to tell that the creativity of Martin's writing was no longer there... So I can see where you are coming from in regards to that...
@BAValliere Жыл бұрын
That’s why you need to read the books too. No way Jaime was going to stay with Brienne and abandon Cersei. And I’m positive Arya was always slated to kill the Night King. @@haselbasil2488 I used to feel the same way, that Dany's arc made no sense, but then I went back and watched the series from the beginning. There have been very subtle hints, even as early as the pilot episode, that Dany would go mad. They're hard to spot, but they're there. Season 8 was handled poorly, her descent into madness happened way too fast, but her becoming the Mad Queen was always the ending planned for her. @irritatedasian2 жыл бұрын
While I can’t truly speak for the writers of the show, I’d say that the change speaks more about the limitations that women suffered from during similar time periods. Nope.... Cersei's walk of atonement was completely satisfying. They definitely did not go too far with her. She's crying like a little ***** yet she's ordered the deaths of so many people and was in cahoots with Jaime in the attempted murder of Bran Stark. I don't feel one bit sorry for her at all.

When Oberyn met his horrific death, even fans who read the books and knew what was going to happen were so traumatized that it was like they didn't even predict it at all.
@tigerlily1025112 жыл бұрын
Dany should've been #1. Her killing innocent men, women, and children after she goes completely insane is incredibly horrific. #2 should be Shireen. Sansa's experience, though incredibly traumatic, made her stronger and she is no longer a little bird. Her statement is truthful and many women who have survived abuse/SA/DV would agree. You have to be strong in order to survive. Sansa survived which was the whole point to her statement.

Sansa's wedding night was definitely horrifying, but it did not go too far. There is almost no nudity and no onscreen violence at all. We understand what is happening, but it would be completely out of character for Ramsey to do a Khal Drogo and suddenly turn in to a kind and caring husband. Of course, it's sickening and infuriating what happens, but anything else would be out of place with a monster like Ramsey. Given how unsettling the idea of Sansa being r*ped by Ramsey is, it was very tastefully shot, leaving almost all to our imagination. Finally, credit must be given to Alfie Allen for his acting. The look on his face as he watches is what truly drives the scene home.
@LarsHoneytoast19872 жыл бұрын
Roose was not equally as terrible as Ramsey. He was cold and vicious sure, but not a remorseless monster like Ramsey. he didn’t do terrible things simply for the pleasure of it. He did terrible things for political means

Okay so number one isn't 100% accurate. It's true that Ramsay doesn't marry Sansa in the books, but he does marry her best friend, Jeyne Poole, who is disguised by the Lannisters and Littlefinger as Arya Stark. Theon is a part of it, and is forced to... prepare her sexually... before Ramsay SAs her. He has to do more in the books than just watch like he does in the show. The options they had were to use Sansa's character, which already had assumed a fair number of Jeyne's characteristics from the books, or write another character into multiple episodes across multiple seasons. The Lannisters needed a Stark marriage to cement Bolton control over the North, which is a fairly important plot point in the show. Theon grew up with both Sansa and Jeyne. It would have been equally cruel to have him there with either one. The only difference for us as viewers, is whether it's to a character we know and love, or one that would have been written in solely for that purpose. Either way, it still wasn't as awful as what was done to Shireen, imo.

I will NEVER forget GoT Season 8 writers for DEMOLISHING Jaime Lannister’s character arc. EVER. And Cersei should’ve died in 1 of 3 ways: 1. Danaerys demolishes the top of the keep, faces directly toward Cersei and simply says, “Dracarys.” 2. Jaime HIMSELF kills her. 3. Arya disguises herself as Jaime and kills her.
