What made Game of Thrones was Ned Stark's execution. It should have been easily in the top 3. That is what made all the hype. A show where main characters aren't plot armor protected... well, at least until season 5.
@nikoloznasaridze63284 жыл бұрын
But why until season 5? Because G.R.R. Marting left? @@dimitra2742 There've been many adaptations across various mediums (there's even an anime & video game, believe it or not). It's one of the longest novels ever written. Stannis letting his daughter burn was also a shocking scene
@gfilmer71504 жыл бұрын
While it was shocking, it was so out of character. It becomes more insulting when you realize that in the books, Shereen is alive and at Castle Black with Jon Snow's corpse while Stannis is setting up an ambush for the Bolton/Frey army.
@nikoloznasaridze63284 жыл бұрын
@@gfilmer7150 it was still a brave move from the show runners and I still think that they made a right thing. This is what GoT is all about, you can expect everything from any character, and that's why that Shireen scene was so shocking and great that even one of the strongest man could not control himself and gave everything to win a war, he lost everything but still, he lost the war and that's why the second part of the fifth season was so epic and great
@gfilmer71504 жыл бұрын
@@nikoloznasaridze6328 There's a difference between doing subversion right and doing subversion wrong. They did subversion right when they followed the books, they did subversion wrong when they just decided to random shit like kill Shireen, have Arya kill The Night King without their being a fight, Dany burning King's Landing, and Bran becoming King. In the books, he'll never give into Melisandre's magic after he almost sacrificed Edrik Storm. He's on the winning side now because of Davos and Jon. Also, he'll never kill his daughter in the books. He told Justin Massey to purchase his twenty thousand mercenaries and make his daughter queen if he dies.
@nikoloznasaridze63284 жыл бұрын
@@gfilmer7150 if you can see, Stanis is doing different in the books. He is on the winning side, so why does he have to burn his daughter? For fun? He was losing in the show and it was really well explained. It was already almost winter and Stannis stayed on the Wall for too much. If he stayed more at the Castle Black, the Winter would have come and he would have stuck there for like years. So he chose to attack Winterfell as soon as possible, and half of his army died or ran away on the way to the Winterfell because of freeze and snow and hunger. So Stannis was lieft with like 2000 men against 6000 of Boltons', he already knew about Melisandre's magic, he saw what happened to Robb Stark and Joffrey (and Baelon Greyjoy also died in the third book even until Stannis went to the Wall) and he knew that King's blood could give him another chance to win, he believed in it. So he was already going to lose, he was dead inside, wothout any feelings, he was not Stannis anymore, Lady Melisandre controled him after they left the wall. That's what human is in real life, he loved his daughter, but he made a terrible mistake, that's why this monent was so shocking and great, it was not Stannis anymore. Davos also said that Stannis was defeated by himself. That is what happens to humans after losing all the hopes and everything that they have been fighting for for last 3 or 4 years. There are no fully good guys in Game of Thrones and that's why it is so special. And I still love Stannis even after what he did, I think it made the fifth season darker. First 7 episodes of season 5 were good or not bad but those last 3 episodes are the reasons why season 5 is good enough for Game Of Thrones
@gfilmer71504 жыл бұрын
@@nikoloznasaridze6328 Ok, I'm not saying can't have morally ambigious characters, I'm saying there needs to be more development. Stannis would never burn his daughter unless the situation was worse like let's say The Wall came down and The Bolton army's closing in. In the show, it came out of nowhere. It's also not faithful to his book counter-part. D&D have always hated Stannis and villainized him because for some reason they liked that narcistic glory seeking fool, Renly. You can try and do a darker Stannis story, but it needs to be developed. I say this as a wannabe writer who wants to explore the dark psychology of my main protagonist, Rick Jones along with the motivations of numerous other characters.

I was amazed that GRRM mention hodor in the very first chapter and after so many years we able to find the whole thing that explains how deep he thinks before writing the book. Definitely agreed with The Red Wedding at nr 1, but although Hardhome and The Battle of the Bastards were amazing, Cersei blowing up the Sept of Baelor is the second best moment of the series in my opinion. The music just made the scene cinematic perfection and I will never get over it. It really solidified Cersei as a character, and further set the tone for the series

Best scenes --- • Tyrion's courtroom speech • Dany getting unsullieds & killing the master who thought she didn't knew valyrian... • Dany uniting Dothrakis & giving speech in Dothraki asking them to help her get 7 Kingdom while sitting on Drogon.. • Every other character reacting & getting afraid when they saw Dothraki, Unsullied & Dragons together for first time

*This is my opinion about the end of Game of Thrones (I'm sorry, my english is bad, but, I hope you understand me):* *1- The Starks, the true winners of the Game of Thrones: Bran will be the best king that has had Westeros in his history, he is a righteous man, with nothing of badness in his heart, like her sister Sansa, she has suffered a lot, but now she is the queen in the North; and Arya, the most warrior of all and the savior of Westeros to have finished the Long Night and killed the Night King. The great Ned Stark and the great Catelyn Tully would be proud of their children, as would Robb and Rickon what they would make of their brothers.* *2- The total claim of Tyrion: our little Lannister was making some mistakes lately, but he was brave to be revealed against his queen, and the end of the series again showed the great Tyrion of the past seasons, and thanks to him and his excellent arguments, Bran is king, and for the confidence he inspires, he was named the Hand of the King, and this shows that he has been the most intelligent Lannister of all, something admirable.* *3- The death of Daenerys: I loved Daenerys, but I think we all knew that she should die, I also remember that image when she entered the House of the Undying in the season 2 episode 10, and she had a vision inside the Red Keep, she see to the Iron Throne and before she could touch it, the screams of his little dragons interrupted her, and that was a clear signal that she would never sit on the Iron Throne.* *4- Drogon and the Iron Throne: the scene of Drogon burning the Iron Throne was totally epic and very symbolic, because he knew that it was the Iron Throne that murdered his mother, she was obsessed with that Throne, she was obsessed with sitting on it, and it was that obsession of power that led her to death; also Drogon did not burn Jon because he knows that Jon is also a Targaryen.* *5- The true purpose of the Lord of Light: as we all know, the Lord of the Light has resurrected Beric Dondarrion several times because his destiny was to protect Arya, and Arya would be in charge of ending the Long Night eliminating the Night King; and now, in this ending, we learned why the Lord of Light resurrected Jon Snow, and resurrected him because Jon had the purpose of saving Westeros from the Targaryen' tyranny with Daenerys, a queen who would rule with fire and blood, and that was going to destroy all those who did not kneel before her, who was going to destroy more cities, and no doubt will destroy especially Winterfell where Sansa lives. Neither with the Night King nor with Daenerys could there have been peace in Westeros.* *That was the purpose of the Lord of Light: to bring peace to Westeros, the peace that could not be possible if the Night King or Daenerys had ruled.* *6- The real North and the two most honorable Targaryen: it was beautiful the reunion between Jon and Ghost, it was also beautiful to see his reunion with his friend, Tormund; besides that, Jon ended up as his close relative, grand maestre Aemon Targaryen, another Targaryen who never wanted the Iron Throne and who ended up in the north, in the Night's Watch.* *7- The journey of Arya towards unknown lands: remember what Arya said to Lady Crane in episode 8 of season 6, when Arya asked Lady who was west of Westeros, Lady told her: "I don't know, the edge of the world, maybe", and Arya immediately told her: "I'd like to see it", and that's how it was Arya left for west of Westeros where no one knows what's out there.* *Everything has been fulfilled.* *Conclusion: Game of Thrones is the best series I've seen in my life, it was a series that made me cry, laugh, anger, feel nervous, feel afraid, but above all, it was a series that made me very happy.* *Thanks for reading me.*
