Queen is more influential and popular. Individually they are also more talented. All of them can play multiple instruments and sing incredibly well. Nothing beats them LIVE. Queen is the greatest LIVE band of all time. Floyd however was more skillful musicians and created musical masterpieces like Echoes and shine on crazy diamond. Floyd is more skillful than Queen Queen is more talented than Floyd There's a difference

The fact that AC/DC isn't even top 10 is criminal. They fit every criteria for greatest rock bands to ever live. They are still doing it til' this day, they have some of the most classic rock songs that are still popular to this day, they have the 2nd best selling album of all time, they are one of the best selling artists of all time, and countless other things. You can argue all day that AC/DC is simple or sound the same or whatever, but they have always been one of the greatest in terms of rock music. They're still relevant, and they still rock. You may not like it, but they are top 5. And who's more successful than AC/DC? Besides the obvious Beatles, Zeppelin, etc. Even In terms of sales AC/DC is still top 5

The further in time you go back, the wider ripples of influence. The Yardbirds are another notable influential early group, along with the Kinks. The omission of Crosby, Stills, and Nash and the Byrds is likely because they are more part of the folk genre.

Listing the 20 greatest rock bands is a tough task, but any list will be subjective. Other great bands that could have made this list include Journey, Van Halen, Kiss, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Toto and Rush among many others. It's a little surprising you didn't mention how Led Zeppelin ended after the death of John Bonham.

Explain to me how you can determine which band is better when their music is totally different? This is a list of the greatest bands, not specifically the best bands. ‘Best’ is also subjective. I love both bands, but I have been a Queen fan since my early youth. Pink Floyd came into my life much later. So I would rank Queen above Pink Floyd in my personal list. But I would als rank Queen above the Beatles. However, I can’t deny the greatness which was The Beatles and the impact they had on music in general. Therefore I can live with this ranking.

The Beatles Queen is number 1 on my list because it has so many rock songs that I love, this is the band I always look for pop/rock band songs, especially with Bohemian Rhapsody being one of the best songs of all-time, and that goes the same thing with AC/DC with their best song and my favorite rock/heavy metal song of all-time, plus they are from Australia, which is where I live, so it's obvious they're in my Top 3. While I didn't think Beatles would be one because I don't hear much rock in their songs but learning that they're one of the few bands who created rock songs, I'll give credit and put them in my Top 3.
