Richard Nixon was born in this town, and he was President of the United States at the time. On November 8, 1972, Nixon won his second term of office by landslide; on the same day, my brother Michael was born. On August 8, 1974, Nixon addressed the nation to announce his resignation in the wake of the Watergate scandal, effect of the next day; on the same day, my brother Scott was born.
