I wish they were readily available in my place. Microdosing was my next plan of care for my husband. He's 59 & has many mental health issues plus probably CTE & a TBI that left him in a coma 8 days. It's too late now I had to get a TPO as he's 6'6 300+ pound homicidal maniac. He's constantly talking about killing someone. He's violent. Anyone reading this Familiar w/ BPD knows if it is common for an obsession with violence.

This past April, my mother passed away from alcohol related issues. We are, Apache Native Americans, so alcoholism runs in our families. It was such a horrible process to see what she went through but sadly she was never able to stop despite doctors telling her numerous times. It had even caused her to lose a couple of really good jobs. I like a good drink every once in a while, but I use her as an example to not let it control me.

The vast damage that alcohol causes is so substantial, its crazy how culturally ingrained it is. To those who call sober people boring, that’s pretty sad and shows how limited your creativity is and how controlling self destructive habits can be. Im lucky to not of hurt anybody and not of end up dead through all the stupid things ive gone thru because of alcohol. Its just straight up poison in my eyes and many horrible things have been linked to it (fatal accidents, domestic violence, child abuse, assault, liver disease, cancer... list goes on). Hey, I've been sober for 6 months after being a high functioning alcoholic for 20+ years (the kind where no-one questions your drinking because you can hold down a job and keep your appointments, etc). After living in fear of never having enough booze for decades I just got to the point where the negatives vastly outweighed any perceived benefit. Quitting can be a tough road, but so far it has totally been worth it.

I was an alcoholic throughout my 20's and early 30's, and my life was an absolute wreck. My house was filthy, I was driving drunk, buying entire bottles of wine/liquor or huge packs of beer after work. I'd even plan out my evening to make the buzz last all night. It was pathetic. I finally hit rock bottom when my rental sold out from under me and I was faced with cleaning it out. It was horrific, and I couldn't believe how I let it get that bad. Bottles and trash everywhere. I looked in the mirror and I was toeing the scale at nearly 200lbs from all the booze and junk food. I didn't recognize myself. I managed to quit cold turkey then and there, even though it was extremely rough. I just took it one day at a time, and forgave myself for days where I slipped up and had a drink. I've been completely sober for 3 years now, and after joining a gym last year, I've lost 40lbs so far! Here's to another sober, healthy year 😊

Neither does my boyfriend since he works just as much as I do and we push to have overtime. And on top of that I feel like I have to play catch up with bills every month. Neither me nor my husband drink. Personal choice. We both have had too many tragedies as a result of alcohol. A friend of mine drowned after taking a stupid swimming dare. Somewhere along the way alcohol got involved, his friends never said when. My husband lost his uncle to alcoholism. 8 years ago a friend of ours lost her soon to be ex husband to alcoholism. The reason for the divorce was his drinking. He was supposed to pick up their 6 year old daughter from school but never showed up. 2 days later his mom went to check up on him and found him dead. If you still want to drink and are ok with all the damage it does to your body, all I can say is “it’s your body, your choice, your health. Just don’t hurt anyone in the process ie drunk driving.” My brother happens to be a private practice defense attorney who specializes in DUIs. He charges $200 an hour.

Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! I only drink alcohol when there is something to celebrate, maybe once or twice a year. When I do drink, I only drink a half glass of champagne. I don't drink coffee either.

I never liked the taste of champagne after one sip. And I recently made a cough syrup using bourbon whiskey, lemon juice, and honey. While making it, the whiskey smelt like rubbing alcohol (and that is before I add the honey). Nobody in my immediate family drinks, but my paternal grandparents would drink occasionally when visiting them.

Drinking was fun from about 18-26 when I'd go out to town with my friends but as I got older the hangovers got worse and worse. My tolerance increased so I drank more but sometimes I drank too much and got into some silly and more serious situations. In the end it's just not enjoyable anymore so I gave up. It's much nicer staying in on a Saturday night and not having a hangover on Sundays. It's getting so expensive as well.

Alcohol doesn't sit well with me. If I drink a margarita too quickly with no food, I get like cold sweats and I feel kinda terrible for about 15-20 minutes. If this is what you feel like before you get drunk.... why?

While there I was diagnosed with sirosis of my liver (only 20% remaining), pancreatitis & gallbladder failure. My body is so damaged I can’t have a liver transplant. I’m screwed & in dire pain. So PLEASE if anyone having problems with addiction seek help! I thought I was invisible!

I was on a cruise two months ago and normally I don’t drink a lot but I got the drink package and took advantage of that and couldn’t drink anymore on my final night of that cruise. It turned me off alcohol so much I didn’t drink til after the New Years countdown and I only took a single shot of some homemade alcohol with friends just to ring in the new years. I know next time I go on a cruise I shouldn’t get too excessive with drinking, even with a drink package.

I had no idea that all these things could happen when you consume alcohol🍹🍾. I know it affects your brain cells. And you can also have your children taken away from you, if you have any. My dad quit drinking a long time ago, probably when I was a baby👶. People should not drink, especially when they're pregnant🤰. By the way, this video was uploaded on my birthday!

Although my username would suggest otherwise I'm not an alcoholic and never will be, because I only drink for pleasure. You know how that actually works? Well take notes boys and girls. You have to buy the "really good stuff" which is expensive. Then you only drink it sparingly and you do that not only because it's healthy, but also because getting wasted on expensive alcohol would be, well, "a waste." And it's actually cheap in the end. Like one time I drank a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue for 2 years. Wasn't exactly my intention but as I intended to drink it for like 1 year but kept forgetting. So ultimately it ended up like 5-6€ per month. So yeah that's how drinking for pleasure works, you drink in small quantities but you drink something that is worth drinking.

And people wonder why I’m a non-drinker… What with ocd, binge eating disorder, a nail-biting habit and diabetes, I think I have enough problems in my life without alcohol. I’ve never smoked (except trying one puff on an old pipe my paternal grandad (whom I never knew, rip) once had), never drank alcohol (except trying sips of it and ordering one drink that I thought was alcohol-free and turned out to be low-alcohol 🙄), and never did drugs.
