Not really a nice guy. After sasuke "revive" him, he said he just want to see sasuke and his decision. So at that point, he is a neutral character. And it's understandable since he can no longer contest naruto or sasuke in power terms. And after that, he re-recruit his previous "staffs" and continue with some experiment stuff. Tho we don't really know what is he actually after in pre-boruto.

Danzo is involved but in the shadows like Madara since there are alot of events that go bad because of him like say the creation of Pain and akatsuki...and there are also alot of events(that dont make sense) in wich people suspect him for tampering(eighter him, Madara or Zetsu) like the info leak on senju clan members,the extermination of the uzumaki(despite taking all the other villages it should have still been imposible considering the whirlpools that defend the village and of course the fuinjutsu),the easy infiltration of orochimaru during the chunin exams,orochimarus ilegal experiments inside the village(suplying test subjects and outing orochimaru to save his own skin?),the leak of sensitive information like Sakumo Hatake's failed mission,Naruto's status as a jinchuriki,the leak of information involving the kyubi attack pointing towards possible uchiha manipulation,kidnapings of uchiha and other clan members for root training or organ harvesting(in case of uchiha the eyes),the hyuga incident(its in the man's job description yet something that was so easy to stop still happens conclusion he let it happen),the kidnaping of kushina uzumaki(seriously a team that a genin can beat just so happen to be capable enought to infiltrate the village and kidnap the lone uzumaki...yeah not buying it eighter Hiruzen or Danzo manipution in this one)

One thing they forgot about Danzo is that he is indirectly responsible for the destruction of the Hidden Leaf and for Akatsuki becoming an organization of criminal mercenaries, as it was because he turned Hanzo against them that Yahiko ended up dead and turned Nagato into Pain. Danzo is to Naruto what Dalton is to Chrono Trigger, a villain you hate even more than the true antagonist, and that you feel hot away with too much for how awful they were. Danzo is also directly responsible for a lot of the crap in the series. The two big examples being Root and his obsession with the Sharingan likely being one of the reasons why he ordered the Uchiha genocide.

@@rileyduncan3927 Danzo didn’t believe obito was madara, he simply thought that he was a powerful uchiha who was named madara but not the one that everyone believed. Danzo had things in his disposal that obito didn’t know which means that there were things Danzo had which were out of obito’s control but yes he did for the most part influence him indirectly anyways.

Danzo was a fool from the moment he revealed that he had more than a pair of Sharingan eyes on his arms. He thought those and his own chakra-based abilities would be enough to knock down Sasuke. His efforts in killing him were desperate and just plain sloppy. Nothing tactful and using a final finishing technique while running away from him? Pathetic move. His death was indeed justified!
