@bloodymarvelous4790
@bloodymarvelous4790 Жыл бұрын
@@khabibnurmagomoodov9287 The soup was so hot it melted the lid. She returned to the store with the soup because she wasn't getting anywhere over the phone. A little deductive reasoning would lead to the soup being so hot it melted the lid when it was poured into the cup. It was then taken to Karen's house, then sat there while she was on the phone, then taken back to the store. The soup would've been warmish at best at the moment she threw it into the store manager's face. 6 months jail for throwing a warmish cup of soup at someone is excessive. What the store manager could and should have done, is filed a civil suit.
@614GTRjr

@@bloodymarvelous4790was that in the story or did you come up with that filler yourself? 1 thing to note is that foam containers maintain temperatures far longer than other containers. 2 what makes you believe she didn't get her soup, spend 2 minutes in the phone then go straight to the establishment? You made a whole scenario for nothing.

Those were 6 days of work release! I recently retired as a flight attendant, and I had an A-hole, upset Karen backhand me. Her round watch's face hit me right in the eye and caused permanent damage. That eye/pupil/iris is no longer able to dilate, absorbing every speck of light, causing blindness in that eye and is quite a painful condition. Wearing a patch over the eye helps, but that is a hindrance, especially while searching for employment. One positive thing about the anti-masker Karens and Kyles on planes combined with social media is airline VPs and execs FINALLY saw what airline personnel experience. Prior to 2020, it was always the crew member's fault, and you can only imagine what some of the untruths these types of passengers stated in their complaint letters. I'm pleased to see, not only airlines, but other public-customer facing businesses are realizing that sometimes the customer isn't right and sometimes a customer will fabricate their position on what took place. In 34 years, I only once asked for a passenger to be removed. It wasn't because he was abusive. My request was based upon his strange actions and disposition. I actually didn't ask for him to be taken off -- just that he be pulled for a secondary security screening. My captain was wishy-washy about the entire issue, and it wasn't until I said I would not be flying the 9 hour flight unless the pax had a secondary screening. The only thing I had going for me in this situation was the flight would be delayed 4+ hours in order to replace me with another crew member. So, my request was granted about 10 minutes before departure. The man was asked to return to the jetway with his one carry-on bag (a small backpack). During the secondary search, a loaded hand gun was found in that backpack. For decades flight attendants have been told to trust their instincts, but airline supervisors and managers rarely stood up for us when we did trust our instincts. Social media, particularly tiktok, has been an incredible tool to my fellow airline colleagues -- even when I was assaulted and suffered a long-term eye injury, the passenger who did it was free to fly my airline. Had that incident happened today, I feel certain she would be blacklisted. I'm also happy that my airline's CEO is leading the charge in persuading Congress to order the FAA to compile a "Master Blacklist" so when one US airline blacklists an abusive passenger, all airlines receive the passenger name. I will say that I had a lot more patience with unruly people than many of my colleagues, and I am guilty of allowing bad customer behavior to slide, and for that, I am truly sorry. I should have been more pro-active in calling out unacceptable behaviors, if not for myself, for my colleagues.

I grew up in Special Education until I turned 13. The entire reason I left is because I kept encountering abuser after abuser in that position. It was so bad that I became suicidal at 8. It's surprisingly common for people like her to enter the field, and it's because they want to feel good & be seen as "heroes," and they figure working with disabled babies is the best way to do it. A lot of them don't actually want to teach or help kids. I joined General Ed as a means of running away from people like her and it genuinely helped.

@@Palafertiilit’s actually battery. Assault is the reasonable perception that an unwanted touching was going to occur while battery is the actual unwanted touching of another person. Gets confused by people all the time. Battery is just an upgrade from assault in that the perception that the unwanted contact was going to occur to that contact actually occurring. Battery has much more serious consequences, although both can result in serious prison time depending on the circumstances. And, for anyone wondering “aggravated assault” is simply threatening unwanted contact using a weapon or through some means that makes the person fear for their lives. In that instance, if the victim fights back (even if the perpetrator never makes contact) and kills the perpetrator, the victim can claim self-defense and would win if they could prove beyond reasonable doubt that they truly felt their life was in danger. The more ya know 🤷‍♂️

I work in the early childhood education field. I've been teaching Preschool, infant to 5 years old for 25 years. I am a Native American man who got into the field in my early 30's after over a decade in the Army. I used my GI Bill to get my degree. I have faced racism, sexism, and ageism from, not just non-Natives, but from Native people as well. I am very good at what I do. I am an outspoken advocate for all children. I have been accused of being a communist, socialist, or a marxist (most people around here don't know the difference between any of them when pressed to define those terms). I get accused of being those things because I encourage children to build a sense of community in their classroom in an effort to build social skills in preparation for their later years in school. I've had many "karens" band together to get me fired for doing such a thing. I always give them my boss's name, work phone number and work email and defy them to try. It has never worked. I think it's hilarious.

Karens when they see a black man breaking into his own house through the front door with a key: I'm calling the police.
@arnoldhenry
@arnoldhenry Жыл бұрын
There was a story about a black home inspector who inspects houses for new homeowners to see how much it's going to cost to bring it to code. He was at this one house to do his job when the Karen next door called the police saying he was breaking into the house. The police came and he was showing all the legal paperwork to prove why he's here. She kept ranting, then a neighbor across the street vouched for him because they both have offices in the same building. But, she kept ranting to a point that one of the officers told that if she don't keep quiet, she's the one who's going to jail.

There needs to be better consequences against these Karens who are violent towards others. Losing your job is a start, but I bet if jail time or hefty fines were part of the punishment, people would think twice.
@Dain75
@Dain75 Жыл бұрын
Fines yes, but jail or prison has never reformed anyone. We say that someone should be in jail or prison, because we want revenge or away from society. I understand the sentiment, but I don't think it solves the problem. Making jail and prison so unbearable nobody wants to go doesn't work. The USA has the highest per capita prison population among all first world and some 3rd world countries, and crime has not decreased. The prison system is also incredibly corrupt and badly run. The fact that there are more offences that send people to prison for longer, especially drug crimes, have astronomically increased the number of people in prison. Poverty leads to crime, because poverty can make people desperate. Of course, the people in these videos have anger issues and who knows what else, and they need to be taught that treating people that way is unacceptable, but I don't think jail will help. It will make them more angry and blame the person they victimized for their problems. I honestly don't know what the solution for people like that is. Overall, starting by eliminating homeless, poverty, the need to work 2 or more jobs to survive, might help people to be less angry? 🤷‍♀️ I mean there will always be a$$hole$, anyone who is extremely rich steps on people like ants. That's an entirely different conversation, except to say, isn't it interesting how we never see those people in prison and they break more and worse laws than half the prison population.

Losing a job can be a more serious punishment than a month in jail. Sometimes it is justified, but employees don't have the legal protections, like the right to a defense, that defendants have. I don't think automatically getting fired is always justified, especially if the Karen's job does not include dealing with the public. But when there is assault involved, yes, employers have to protect themselves.
