Shout out from the bottom over here, my part-time job is actually my second job to pay for inflation

I don't need to fill my free time with hobbies if i dont feel like it. Why do i need to have a purpose? If i just want to have a nap or read a book or just watch the birds in the garden, that is fine. Why do people feel like it is a waste of time to do nothing in your free time just to fill a gap? People really haven't learnt to just relax. A life time of getting work ethic drummed into us has taken its toll. We are brainwashed into filling our time with activities to not getting perceived as lazy. That way we avoid using our brain and think about our needs and happiness.

As a self-employed home maintenance person, I work when I have to in some weeks are just slow. I think I need to work 15 to 20 hours a week on average to pay my bills. I usually work more than that a week but take off quite a bit. There's no point sitting around town when you could be elsewhere. All about managing your expenses!

I'm a Canadian former executive director turned 3 days a week consultant. Definitely getting paid more but of course, there's a lot more risk. It's been so interesting to go through and super curious to see how long I can maintain this!

We need a 4 day work week with the full time pay. And pay needs to go up. CEOs have been stealing more and more wages over the past 50 years.

Easy to solve just don't work/invest in places that you think CEOs are overpaid or do we need a authoritarian solution?

@@Nuganics at this point it’s almost every company. They do it because they can. So yes, we need goverment regulations and unions to protect workers. Just like in Western Europe.

@@djp1234 If it is almost every company that proves that CEOs are adding real value for what they are being paid. If you think they are wrong become a CEO. Western Europe CEOs are highly paid also so I can't see how your idea is valid?

Working part-time doesn't guarantee a better life but investing does, to my own understanding acquiring sound financial counsel prior to venturing into the market helps a lot.

Definitely would appreciate a 4 day schedule. I don't mind full-time hours but flexibility would be great. But, i understand not all industries can support this.

I'm 28 and earn $112k+, salary. I average 30hrs/week. I can manage all my work and produce everything that is needed of me. I just don't pursue even more work for no reason. All my work is project based so I can pump out what I need to. Also working fully remote allows me to focus without distractions thus the 30hrs. Eventually I'd like to do my own consulting but I'm still too young and novice.

I'm lucky enough to have a job where it is possible to work part-time because I wanted to stay on my wife's insurance. The extra day that I would normally be working would have gone into buying worse insurance anyways, if I was full time. so I get an extra day off for essentially the same amount of money.

A full time job that actually honors the salary status is ideal but it never happens, if you are able to time manage and get your initial work done quickly all it will lead is to more work you were not initially assigned to do not the reward of reclaiming time for yourself as you should based on the salary system!

Build your skill set so that you can earn more per hour and run your own business. Build it deep, build it wide, and be willing to go beyond to do this. No one wants to pay you well for a skill that everyone has.

There's industries in the US who've already been doing different schedule structures according to our workloads in assembly and manufacturing. Yes, we're still doing that kind of work here in the rural suburbs where we they give tax incentives for these companies to come here. We can plan stuff around the scheduling, and vacations and what have do not have to be determined by asking for permission from our employers. You still get you allocated paid vacation hours. But it's nice not limiting my life by the confines of employer demands, which is absurd the older I get.

You can survive but not save or raise a family on a part-time wage. Either flexible full-time work or part-time + gig work when you want/need to would be better options. Still full-time is great if you enjoy the work.

It stuns me enormously the way that I go from carrying on with a typical way of life to making over 63k each month I've gleaned some useful knowledge throughout recent years that there are a lot of plenty opportunities in the financial markets;all it takes is just to focus on the right thing.
