At 29:37 Mr Polidoro states it was a surprise to lose in the District Court, but honestly I think this was a long term blessing, because ending up in the Supreme Court it put this issue in a more national spotlight and then it could also then cover those other 3 jurisdictions in other states which had challenged JW's with the permit requirement. You can certainly see Jehovah's blessing here by allowing it to go to the Supreme Court and thus the national and even international spotlight.

Very interesting to see this much concentrated publicity from watchtower on a "worldly" media outlet. They usually handle their own publicity and PR media stuff besides international conventions and other miscellaneous stuff. Good for them.

Mr. Lane has interviewed our Br. Hendricks a few times before. He's a great interviewer with a ton of respect. He doesn't talk over the people he interviews. I've watched Mr. Lane and Br. Hendricks in the past and they have a wonderful, fun rapport. I'm not surprised at all that this special occasion was highlighted on this channel.

Paul, the spirit you show often reminds me of Gamaliel, an expert in the Law in 1st century stood up and warned his colleagues not to act hastily. He wisely observed: “If this scheme or this work is from men, it will be overthrown; but if it is from God, you will not be able to overthrow them.” Then, significantly, Gamaliel added: “Otherwise, you may perhaps be found fighters actually against God.” -Acts 5:34, 38, 39. Thank you for being so patient, reasonable and Gracious with Jehovah People. In the words of Jesus who said regarding a scribe you “You are not far from the Kingdom” Meaning: Because he was a person with the right heart condition and quickly assimilated to the new arrangement and so he concurred agreeably he demonstrated that he was rightly disposed and was being drawn by or creator to the truth. Thank you!

This was an outstanding ruling by the US Supreme Court. However, if this hasn't happened they would have done so at the risk of being arrested or had to pay a fine. We want to obey the laws of a city, country or nation. But we obey Jehovah God as the final word.

Jesus with his disciples went to the doors.... glad HE/they didn't have to get permits. My neighbors... yes, we speak about Spiritual things, we also talk about other important things too. I'll bring food, they'll give food...... but Spiritual food heals a person too.....we.take care of each other. Matt 28:19-20 (Go therefore) King Jesus command. Jehovah's Witnesses listen, we listen to our King first.

Awesome interview! All praise goes to Jehovah God the one who gave all authority to his son Jesus whom in turn commanded his true disciples to "Go" therfore and preach the Good News. So no, we absolutely do not need the permission of any human government to do what Christ commanded us to do. Our, (MY) obedience and obligations are to a much much higher Authority!! That of the Almighy God and Creator Jehovah God. Imagine having to get the permission of an imperfect human being to go do the work established by the Creator of the Universe!...Really? The world should begin to understand and take notice that what Jehovah God wants done will always always always get done. Beautiful handled! Thank you for the respectful and truthful manner in which this was presented.

Paul thank you for a fascinating podcast that highlights the undeniable contributions to American civil liberties as a result of the Jehovah’s Witnesses legal activity. Their contributions are well documented and all Americans benefit from their contributions. While I know the focus of this was on Stratton v. Watchtower and similar decisions, what I found wanting was a more complete view of Watchtower, similar to that of Shawn Francis Peters in his excellent book Judging Jehovah’s Witnesses, which mentions their contributions contrasted with the denial of freedom experienced by their own members. While Watchtower fights vigorously for its own rights in court, the individual witness is denied freedom of expression and conscience, knowing that if they were in any way critical of the organization’s practices they would experience shunning by their friends and even their family members for daring to express such thoughts. Additionally the well documented practice of high-ranking Watchtower representatives lying to public officials and courts on a host of issues, mostly centered on child abuse and shunning, is striking and in stark contrast to the reputation the Watchtower previously held as being an organization of impeccable integrity. I would hope a future podcast may address at least some of these issues and give a more complete picture.

People individually have the right to request Jehovah Witnesses to no longer call at their address, and the Witnesses respect that legal right. As far as leaving the religious organization, don’t join in the first place! People willingly choose to become one of Jehovah’s Witnesses; they are informed what standards they need to live by and what the consequences are if they should choose at a later date to no longer live by those standards. Also, the right to associate (and of assembly) is not the same as a so called right to associate with whomever you choose (if it means violating the other parties’ individual right to choose who to associate with).
