A real forehead slapping moment with that indicator registering when the leveling bolts start to take the weight. Why the hell I didn't figure that out on my own years ago is the real mystery. That one tip was worth subscribing just for it. Thanks Wes.

Well, I'm glad you got something out of it.

I've now watched the full alignment series Wes. I'm only a hobbyist with manual equipment, but have tried to pick up as much as possible about machine tool alignment over the years. You never know when a machine tool design feature or alignment trick / method will come in handy. It was a well thought out and demonstrated series.

Thanks man, I really appreciate the way you explain stuff and the relaxed speed you are doing it. I am glad you attended to the levelling myth, well explained and used. I watch this to pick up on how you think about taper cutting correction, and accuracy etc. Using the dial indicator on floor to confirm bearing, brilliant.

I had to laugh when you mentioned Tom Lipton 4 hour video on calibrating a level. Yes is very true, his information is worthwhile but while watching my attention span starts to wander and i start to feel some what sleepy while watching. Thanks for the video Wes see you on the next one. Regards Peter.

why don't you write him a letter while you're at it start by first introducing yourself and dates write paragraphs and then put PS at the bottom haha then signature
@weldmachine2 жыл бұрын
@@christophercolumbus8944 I already wrote a letter as a comment. Wes, already knows who i am. So no need to introduce myself. 🙄 Possibly i could include a PS in my next letter. Signature 🤔 I can't sign my name in KZbin comments. Seems you do nothing other than running off at the mouth. Nothing to add with any videos of your own. Typical, nothing to add except talk crap. Maybe try posting some videos yourself, at least that way you might learn not to shoot your mouth off in the comments.

I know this is an old video, I learn a lot from your videos, I have a Mori SL25 bought new in 87, you should have mentioned you never use machinery skates without a piece of thin wood on top of them, hence the spikes made on top of them, reason I never loan mine, most people don’t know any better

I’d like to see some more of your machining content I have been a mechanic basically since I could walk it machining is something I’ve been picking up just because I got tired of spending 2-300$ for specialty tools

Hey, where did you find to level the headstock on the SL-20?
@WatchWesWork4 жыл бұрын
I used the spindle motor bracket I think. Or maybe the top of the headstock.

I solved a problem like this in 2020. Overhead Document Camera to be 90 degrees to the inclined document plane. Used a Nishore 360° Mini Digital Protractor.
