Great video as always Gregg. Close to home as well as a unique view only an employee can get.

HI Paul! Nice to hear from you. I was lucky with this one, as we are usually on gantry's at night! Off to Mt Lofty in 2 weeks , so looking forward to that! Cheers Gregg.

Cool video Gregg. I must say that I agree with Adrian, I would get a little nervous around those wires! Although in Chicago on the L the third rail is right next to the track. Only 600 volts!

Thanks Scottie! You forget about it most days, except in the rain when you can hear and see the 25KV buzzing! Gregg 🙂

Thanks Bob! I like climbing the old signals to change lamps, but with LED's now, you don't get to do it very much. Take care mate. Gregg.

Interesting video, especially when it is narrow gauge. So National from the US made the locomotives, hopefully they are better runners than the Chinese products. The grain hoppers had the overhead protection roofs at the ends, very crew friendly. Will Australia ever go down to one gauge? Great catch, cheers from Terry in Nebraska.

Thanks Terry! Yes , the NRE units seem to be going well so far? The Chinese units are down south on the Standard gauge, we don't have any the NG network. As for one gauge...not in my lifetime ..LOL. ARTC are building the SG freight network since the 90's , and all States have Standard gauge for freight now....finally! Cheers Gregg.

A lot of Back EMF in that first shot under the high voltage wires. I'm glad I don't have to do your job round the zap zaps. Hate being anywhere near it. I here they are looking to start pulling grain out of Capella again too. So I will probably end up working a few.

Yes Adrian, we can get up to 3m from it , and do all the time! You can hear it arcing above your head when its raining ..... you try not to think about but it can't be that good for you long term? Is it normal to have 3 testicles..LOL. Good to hear more grain on the rails! Cheers Gregg.

Great catch Gregg! Heard many things about the trains "down under". They do make for great videos either way!

Thank you ! All the different states have their unique things, especially here being narrow gauge! Cheers Gregg.

Are grain trains always given priority over other trains?
