empty the fridge and when you think about going to the store think about all the people unable to social distance, who refuse to wear masks or take it off to chat with someone they know in the store, who are probably still not washing their hands and keep sneezing everywhere. Tbh for me the whole current situation (esp the supermarket situation) was the little extra push/motivation I needed to stick with it. The store is literally across the street and 'quickly going to buy some coffee/trash bags/whatever' always ended in me also buying food - and subsequently eating it because yeah, once in the fridge it doesn't stay there for long

Funny because my entire life, everyone has preached to me about how bad and "unhealthy" it is whenever I don't eat. Like, I'd skip lunch bc I wasn't physically hungry at the time and coworkers would act like it was dangerous! Our society definitely conditions us into accepting some unnatural eating habits. And too many people just don't seem to understand that fasting is not gonna kill you.

It’s true. I’m different when it comes to eating. I have been intermittent fasting basically my entire life. Not because it’s a fad or anything, it’s pretty much my natural eating habit since I’ve been a kid. Believe me, I used to get in trouble with my mom all the time for skipping meals haha. I just listen to my body, sometimes it tells me not to eat even when I’m hungry which may sound odd. The thing is though, I look at least 5 years younger so I think I know why.

Which is still perfectly in the realm of healthy body weight. 28 days nothing but water, all of you who freak out about fasting should try to maybe go a week without eating and just see what happens. It's kind of the whole reason we store fat, it's so we have energy when food reserves are low. It's best to initially decide on 48 hours, then add on from there. The first two days are when the cravings are most intense. Once you get over that hump, it's all down hill. I don't even want food after I get past those first two days, so it's a good way to trick my brain by deciding to "only go for two days" to get to the stage where I have more control. Then I can simply decide not to eat from there. I need to employ such tactics since I cook for the family. Dinner throughout the week, breakfast lunch and dinner on weekends when they seem to eat nonstop, but they have a metabolism that allows for it.. so even with my circumstances, this method works for me. Also, if you have a hypoglycemic attack, don't panic! Just have some almond milk, or chicken broth, you should get instant relief, if not, some jello or a banana will do the trick. Low residue foods are only a minor speedbump as opposed to a break in your fast, and wont bring back the stomach growls. I never made progress before I did this.. Hopefully what I've learned, through much trial and error can help people out there!

It's real, and it's perfectly healthy. I tell people what I'm doing and their first reaction is "Oh I could never go without food for that long". The can, they just don't want to. I found that I would lose 3-4% of my body weight during the fast and then gain 30% back over the next 11 days. As I lost more and more weight over the months, I noticed the weight loss during each fasting period was decreasing as a percent of total weight and the amount I gained back was increasing. I assumed that this is because there is less fat to eliminate. Just starting month 5 and have lost 14.4%.

37 days water fasting (with a small break on the 20th day to refeed a little) 32 pounds lost but worked out 2 hours a day also.Before I started waterfasting I prepared myself with a liquid diet for one week. Broke it with boiled cauliflower.I want to start another one for another 20 days when I'm ready. It was the most difficult thing I have ever done in my life.

On day 5... Only did electrolytes for one day. Back to only water. Start weight 152.6 lbs, height 5’11.5, temp 97.6, heart pressure 110/70/65. Almost quit last night. Blood sugar dropped to 2.2 had dizziness, a few palpitations. Holding on until completion; until an undeniable hunger returns. Wish me luck.

Going to add my agreement with all the other comments - I spent 4 months researching intermittent and extended fasting and then found this video - BEST VIDEO and explanations I've ever seen! I'll be spreading this around all the time! Wish I found this 4 months ago! ;) Also - Pink Himalayan salt for the electrolyte replacement! It contains potassium, magnesium, and calcium along with (of course) sodium. Works great! Thanks so much, Dorian. WELL DONE! Going to watch the rest now and you've got a new subscriber!

Im 189 pounds and my target is around 133 - 169. Ive done several fasts in the past. I find the more you do it the less intense the hunger pains are. The hunger would last usially up to 3 days until the body gets the gist of whats going on. A neat trick to tell if you are getting more minerals than you need is to check your pee. If its yellow then you have more than enough. If its clear then you have around just enough to not enough. Tough its a good idea to get electrolytes if you plan to exercise while fasting. If you have a real problem commiting to a fast, take a step a way from it for a few weeks and come pack at it again. Its fine if you don't mannage to commit to the fast several other times after. Your goal should be to build a mental resistance to hunger. Be familar with hunger and be at peace with it. Don't give up. Keep at it until you find success. Im going on a long term fast since its quite the distance for my weight target.

Had last meal on a Sunday. Monday morning I was 192.6. Wednesday evening I’ve completed my 72hr. fast and am at 184.4. Down by 8.2 pounds. If only 3 or so come back from water weight I’ll be happy.

I'm 22 hours into my first fast and waiting for that ghrelin to get off my back already! BTW, I lost my first 120 lbs not by fasting, but just flipping my diet from terrible to exactly what my doctor said I should be eating. Now I'm trying to get off of an 18 month plateau - I have another 40 lbs to go.

@HeatherSpoonheim4 жыл бұрын
@@Ahrone1586 Got off the plateau? No, I haven't. In fact, I've gained about 15 lbs - but most of that was stress at the start of the pandemic. I'm eating healthy and trying different things (went keto for a while, tried intermittent fasting, yadda yadda) but still not 'skinny'.

Very accurate play by play. I’ve done 3 fasts over 21 days and a couple over 14. This video is a great lesson for people scared of longer fasts. I recommend complete rest (take a vacation) so you allow your body to heal and you don’t waste electrolytes. Also, I no longer drink tea or use toothpaste during the water fast because it makes “keto breath” worse. Keto breath will make your mouth taste terrible and your tongue feel like a desert. Set a timer for every 5-10 minutes and take small sips of water. 4-5 quarts of water a day is essential. The less you do the further you will go into a fast without the resultant side effects (weakness, dizziness). DO NOT WORK OUT DURING A WATER FAST, I learned that the hard way
