@@LuluTheMiniMuseAt the beginning of my intermittent fasting ,it was just 16 hours ,then 18 hours. But,I have finally determined to do 23 hours and I am very adapted to it right now. I eat healthy food like mackerel, eggs, avocados, extra olive oil, olives, organic, unpasteurized, unfiltered apple cider vinegar, and vegetables( tomatoes and cucumbers are my best veggies)and I drink black tea with no sugar or artificial sweeteners. Right now ,I consume virgin ,organic coconut oil( I add it to my black tea). Healthy oils like extra olive oil and virgin, organic coconut oil make me satiated for a long time. I sometimes eat cheese and nuts like walnuts, Brazil nuts ,pecan and macadamia nuts. I don't want to cheese and nuts every day becuase they are trigger foods. I really overonsume them without stopping. I don't eat bread ,wheat products, rice of any type, no grains in my diet, no starchy vegetables like potatoes or any vegetables growing underground, no sugar of any type ,no artificial sweeteners, and no fruits .

Thank you so much. I started fasting about 3years ago. I was desperate as my health was going downhill fast. My first juice fast was 3 days, and i felt so sick with the mucous coming out, I went for 7 days. After the first fast I was hooked. I juice every single day and eat a high raw plantbased diet. I've completed 7, 14, 21, 36 and 64 day fast, and every single time the benefits and the healing my body does is amazing. I'm currently on day 77 of my juice fast, and I'm still blown away with my energy levels, mind clarity and intuition. Fasting is amazing.

Triglycerides dropped from 95 to 43 . But what amazed the doctor the most was my ALT : 8 months ago the doctor asked if I drink often because my liver was showing some damage, since I don’t drink he diagnosed me with non alcoholic fatty liver, ALT was 31 and dropped to 17 .!!!! So I have adopted biblical fasting so what that means is I prey while fasting and I just thank God for everything I have or if I have a problem or a health issue I prey while fasting that is a way to deny yourself to God and put him first and he will answer your prayers so what I do for example is maybe my dinner is at 7 then done eating by 8 so from 8 pm with no snacks untill noon next day so there is 16 hrs so then at noon I will have a lil lunch then fast again untill dinner at 7 pm so that is a total of 22 hrs fasting and preying and once you get into this type of habit just watch how your body heals itself and just watch how God will work in your life and heal you from things you are suffering from, God bless all who reads and adopts this Amen

At age 60 I looked 70. Age spots on my face and body, 50 pounds overweight, sick with high blood pressure, pre-diabetic, gout, joint pain… Now at age 65 after 3 years of low carb/Keto with intermittent fasting and fasting days, I look 50-55 years old. I lost 50 pounds and am down to a 32” waist, at 6’0” and I am now at 180 pounds. She lost 35 lbs. We totally cleared out our fridge and pantry, getting rid of all processed foods and oils. We use only coconut, avocado, olive and MCT oils, collagen powder, some supplements, like cod liver oil, and a variety of D, K, E, B- Complex… No more bread, pasta, or high starch vegetables. We buy whole natural foods and enjoy cooking healthy and wholesome meals. I do the cooking. We feel good and exercise regularly, and our sexuality has skyrocketed.

@gordonwaite2

@@blc1960 You educate yourself by learning all that you can on the right foods, recipes, choices…and what are the wrong foods and choices. Clean out your house of all the bad foods, oils, condiments, flour, sugar… Don’t eat out unless you know the food is appropriate for low carb and is quality, like a good steak with asparagus and some cauliflower… You have to devote yourself entirely. It not just fasting. Intermittent fasting is the next important step after replacing the foodstuffs. Once you are eating right and skipping the one meal so that you only eat super healthy for 6-8 hours, allowing for 16-18 hours of fasting in between, you will have made a big leap. The whole, healthy food you eat, fills you up faster, and satiates you longer. Watch KZbin videos by Dr. Fong and Dr. Mark Hyman and others. You either believe that you can do it and do have the strength, or you don’t. About the bakery, I cook delicious dishes for the week on fasting days or during my fasting hours.

As part of my 15-year fasting journey, in my early 60s I discovered that beginning my fast after the 6pm meal, by the time I wake up the next morning I'm already 12 hours into my 72 hours fast. Fasting is a mind game and I am happier knowing I only miss 2 full days of food - by the third day I eat dinner and break the fast - usually with a clear zucchini soup. I appreciate Dr. Hyman repeating that we need to listen to our bodies and do what works for us... we learn the hacks along the way. Bon chance!

I have been fasting for years as long as I can remember, and the biggest changes happened starting on December 30, 2023 when I had a major awakening or spiritual awakening. I went from a 54 year old woman say that of a 20-year-old young adult teen girl l or younger mentally and physically. I also use subliminals and having mind over matter and simply trusting the process. It could that I’m ascending from my carbon body into a light body.

My whole life, im now 70, ive had this active metabolism that makes me look skinny no matter how much I eat. As a result ive eaten lots of food, over eating, not to mention since diagnosed cancer in 2020, my family and friends say eat...eat Eat!! I love these videos and believe this fasting keto idea may not cure cancer but certainly helps manage it to keep me away from hospitals and white coats that exist, In my humble opinion, more as a profit driven business than health buiding business. Self love is also important and i believe its better to die while Im living than live while Im dead. So while going keto to starve cancer cells, I always allow myself Lee way to enjoy a piece of birthday cake once in a while. Thanks for posting this.❤️ Love to everybody

Fasting can absolutely heal cancer sometimes. There are many people who have used fasting to fully heal skin cancer. Dr. Boz used a 40-day fast on her mother to heal her of cancer (I forget which kind), when she didn’t want to do chemo. There are multiple people who have used extended fasting and a keto or carnivore diet, with and without chemo, to heal from cancer.

@@User-ph6edIntermittent fasting. It's better to eat one huge meal per day then take small meals or like a snack for the rest of the day. I choose leafy greens, fruits or a detox drink for my snacks especially when I suddenly snack on a slice of cake, cupcake, cookie or brownie or ice cream. I think it's depends on what has been eating because someone obese cannot just directly go to fasting...they have to make a gradual process...

Truck drivers have had an industry systematically trying to kill us with addicted food culture! Lack of available food sources, and new food products being tested on our addictions, have turned living out here on the road sickening! Fasting has saved my life, saved me money, and could save lives of truckers all over this country! It's clearly the only protocol that works, and prevents addiction, helps with focus, sleep deeper, and keeps us off medication!

I have been on various fasting regimes for 4 years now. it is a transition thing as I am now only eating either once or twice a week. i.e. 3 days of eating every 2 weeks (Fasting 5/4/5). Whole real foods. Zero 'processed' unless I do it myself. I feel great, tonnes of energy, I exercise (cycling), I walk, I sleep well. Constant nose breathing. Cold showers daily (sometimes 2 on exercise days). Zero hygiene products i.e No soap, no shampoo, no deoderant, I brush my teeth with water. Zero bad breath, no body odour. I only change my clothes once per week, they never smell. I have a hot bath once a week/fortnight with epson salts. Weight stable, no cravings, never hungry. Planning and preparing my food on eating days is a joy. Grass Fed meat nose to tail, fish, eggs, organic veg and fruits, do my own fermenting, make my own yogurt. Zero pastuerised products. All dairy is based on raw milk. Home made Bone Broth and Kvass. Combination of Water (Structured & Blessed), coffee and green tea on fasting days. Life is a breeze and remarkably calm and stress free even though I still encounter challenging situations which in the past would cause varying degrees of distress.

So much good/bad advice out there...finding one's own sweet spot (v. sweet tooth!) is key. Not all bodies react to same diet.

What a pleasure listening to Dr Hyman speak at a normal pace in this video. It's so relaxing. This video is 2 yrs old I believe. His new videos in 2024 he speaks so fast it's stressful to listen to and almost impossible to take in so much information at such a fast pace. Yes I know I can slow the video down, but basically I just wish he would speak at a normal pace. I don't have 1.5 hours in a day to listen to pocasts.

I used to eat quite healthy since December 2021, consuming collagen peptides, chlorella-spirullina, & turmeric supplements religiously, but I didn’t do the fasting yet in the past. I started to do intermittent fasting & reducing my sugar intake from everything sweet (even from fruits & honey) since December 2023. It’s 5 days a week with the range of fasting time is around 14-18 hrs, and since then I am very picky with food, I mostly eat whole foods and avoiding processed food, processed sugar & eat less carbs. I also eat food in order, so when I eat I will start with eating the veggies first, and then the fat, protein and eating carbs/ something sweet will be the last. This eating in order method causes less glucose spike after I break my fast so it makes me feel full longer and not craving so much. My hormones balance is getting so much better, my acnes are gone. I’m 39 years-old but people will guess like I’m 25 years-old. I’m 5’ tall and my weight stay stable in between 95-97 lbs. I’m very happy with what I’m doing. 😃

Amazing how as a thirteen-year fruitarian I have zero health issues as a 64-year-old so I do NOT buy into the carb being the enemy stance. My siblings, which are all younger than I look much older, even my little sister who is 13 years younger than I and they ascribe to the keto-diet which they have started and stopped for decades since it is not sustainable for them. I do fast for 18 hours of the day and most days ingest 3k calories of carbs to maintain my weight which is difficult for me. BTW, I do 24-hour glucose level checks and my blood glucose never goes over 72 dL/mg.

It is great that you have found what works for you. Outcomes and long-term sustainability are what matters for the individual. I have never found fruit appealing but it is great that the human body can thrive on a variety of diets. Only processed and refined foods seem to be unhealthy to all.

Fasting is highly encouraged in Islam, not only fasting for the month in Ramadan, but also fasting twice per week and three specific days during the month. Yes there are health benefits, but the reward in the Hereafter is greater if a person is fasting for the sake of God (Allah) and not simply for worldly gains. Alhamdulillah (All praises is for Allah alone) for Islam.

Anyone doing long term water fasting MUST do a "refeed" for half the time they have fasted, this is extremely important. No filling up on your usual foods, a little coconut water to start, small mouthfuls first, then add high water content fruit, like watermelon. Increase SLOWLY otherwise you can be very sick. Keep awa from cooked food for a while, fresh fruits, salads etc, then gradually add in other foods, a little at a time

No! You don't start refeed with CARBS! Start with a poached egg. Dr. Eric Berg & Dr. Sten Eckberg have several videos on " Refeed" after prolonged fasts. Research! Coconut water is SUGAR!!

Dr. Hyman should have elaborated in detail regarding the process of autophagy that occurs during fasting. Dr. Yoshinori Ohsumi won the Nobel Prize in 2016 for Medicine or Physiology for uncovering the mechanisms and functioning of the process of autophagy which is triggered by and accelerates during fasting. Dr. Ohsumi discovered that our body has an intrinsic native intelligence inextricably intertwined in our DNA that instructs the body, among other things, to heal itself and maintain health. The natural process of autophagy is central to and a key biological process that makes fasting so effective and powerful in fixing and reversing many ailments especially during prolonged fasts.

I've been intermittent fasting since 2 weeks, mostly OMAD (one meal a day). During fasting I drink coffee with heavy cream, water of course and some lime juice. Plus I've been doing Low Carb High Fat LCHF for 4 months now. Since starting this early October 2021, where my BMI was at 29, I lost 27 lbs (12.5kg) and my BMI dropped to 24. My pants fit again. I had to buy a new belt a couple of weeks ago. So only on LCHF I lost 7-8kg (17 lbs), then I introduced IF, and started to speed things up. Lost another 4kg (9 lbs) within 2 weeks. Of course stop alcohol as much as possible. A good way to start IF is going LCHF. Get fat adapted with natural and healthy fats, and skip breakfast. Stop snacking.

I’ve been pulling off 14-16hr dry fasts with easy chances of going longer while being active(on the clock💰, push-ups, squats, jumping jacks mainly, nothing intense), it really does depend on your body & how you utilize & train it
