Extremely impressive, great job man. Probably the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, you get my vote.

Thanks. I have been trying to get it on mapstrav for a couple of weeks but Hollow's PC just lags to much to handle it and Rage has been doing fucking crackens for the last few weeks. Hopefully next week since it needs to be done in 1.7. (I believe there is a rendering problem with falling sand in 1.8)
@CadeAnder10 жыл бұрын
GentlegiantJGC Do you think I could have a copy of the save just to look at the redstone? I really need to learn how to organize redstone better.
@gentlegiantJGC10 жыл бұрын
yeh sure. www.mediafire.com/download/cp479sts7guqjr1/Water_Fountain.zip It is probably not the best. I used MCedit scripts to make most of it because CBA to write 23,000 command blocks by hand

If something is worth doing, its worth doing right. I tend to reserve being impressed, and this right here, this is Impressive :D awesome great job. Fountains should be a new Minecraft art form like roller-coasters.
@gentlegiantJGC10 жыл бұрын
going to amend that quote slightly if I may. "If something is worth doing, it is worth overdoing". Thankyou it means a lot. Who knows I may do another one at some point in 1.8. Just had a look at your channel and noticed that you did the ripple gif that is on reddit now. I really liked that
@twichnitr010 жыл бұрын
GentlegiantJGC well said, and you should I would love to see more from you. I have been meaning to do something aesthetic for a while but I was not sure how to combine it or what the centre piece should be. I might try my own hand and see if I can't come up with my own fountain show design.
@gentlegiantJGC10 жыл бұрын
TwitchNitr0 please do. I would love to see what you can come up with
@gentlegiantJGC10 жыл бұрын
TwitchNitr0 I have been poking around and there is a bug (bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-64634) that causes certain falling sand entities not to render. Sadly water is one of them :( Thought I might let you know before you started. You may not see this but I thought I may as well try.
@twichnitr010 жыл бұрын
GentlegiantJGC hmm thanks will take that into account when I start working on it. maybe I will wait to see if they fix it.

It's a feat in itself placing down 23,280 command blocks!
@gentlegiantJGC10 жыл бұрын
most were made by scripts. The section with all the different type of blocks was about 16,000 command blocks in total

The map only works in 1.7 If you are running it in 1.8 then that will be your problem. I will add that to the description to make it more obvious

I saw this on Mapstrav, dude, very amazing. Also, just saw the latest with your list of giant builds, also highly impressive. But seriously, 23,280 command blocks? How long did it take you to get everything set up for that?
@gentlegiantJGC10 жыл бұрын
I made it over two weeks but I didn't spend the whole two weeks making it. Possibly 5-10 hours maybe more. Almost all of them were made with scripts

Can I convert the Map to 1.12.2?
@gentlegiantJGC7 жыл бұрын
Gamer_2004_joei you are more than welcome to though it will be quite difficult. I think the way falling sand works changed in the next version so the velocities will all have changed
@Undesired13187 жыл бұрын
Yeah 1.12.2 broke my adventure map :(
@gentlegiantJGC7 жыл бұрын
Gamer_2004_joei this was made back in 1.7 so you have quite a few more versions that have broken it since then

GentlegiantJGC Hope you used an mcedit filter for those tensandthousands of command blocks?! How long did this take you?
@gentlegiantJGC10 жыл бұрын
Wilco van Beijnum It was 23,000 iirc. Yes I did use some form of script for most of it. The first little bit is written by hand then from there some I generated the commands and used texelelf's dump command filter to get them into game. I think for the later lot (for example the skins) I taught myself how to interact with tile entities in MCedit because that was the only way it was really going to be done
