Also from what I recall, it is said that Sabito's blade was too dull from killing demons up on that mountain which is why he couldn't finish off the big guy with the many arms that protected his neck. Because Sabito saved everyone, his blade was too dull when it came to that final fight. If he matched up against the arm demon early on, he would've clapped him too.

Giyuu took what was left of Sabito's Haori and stitched it into his own to carry his memory with him the rest of his life im gonna be sick also it's worth pointing out, as Tanjiro mentioned: Giyuu might not have killed a single demon in the Selection, but afterwards he worked his ASS off in order to become strong enough to do it and even managed to become the Water Hashira out of basically sheer willpower alone. HE is the biggest thing holding him back from being one of the most powerful swordsmen alive in this show.

Since ya'll skipped the taisho secret after scene, it's stated that half of Giyuu's haori is from sabito but the other half was his sister's. So they're both mementos from people in his life who essentially died so that he could live. Not all of the taisho secrets are fluff, some hold really valuable info, just for future reference.

If you can pass the Final Selection Exam without even defeating a single demon, and the one that nearly defeated all of the demons died and failed, that just further proves that the Final Selection Exam process is a flawed system.

@@luzura4143 They could’ve had experienced Demon Slayers monitor the exam and keep it in check; and they definitely could’ve removed the Hand Demon (who was clearly too strong to be left unchecked in an exam meant for recruits) from the exam, which would’ve saved Sabito’s life

@@KelShu They had no idea about the hand demon, otherwise they'd have removed it. And putting monitors gets in the way of the test and makes it pointless, unless it's beforehand and not during. But regardless, they don't have the people to go monitor beforehand anyway. Too few.

It would not hinder the process to have someone monitor the exam and keep things in check In any case, they could’ve easily found out about the Hand Demon by taking at least one day to look into the forest and check which demons don’t belong there. The excuse that they didn’t know or cared to investigate into this, makes the Demon Slayer Corps look terrible.

Having someone monitor and oversee the exam would not hinder the process; if anything, it would help make it run smoother.
