There should have been pre plans from fire dept to address the issue of the area not having hydrants and should have had a watertender on initial dispatch

Sounds like possible lawsuit, city neglects to install a fire hydrant..
@tomwilliam51182 жыл бұрын
That's not neglect there a lot of subdivisions or neighborhoods that do not have fire hydrants.

The city is not required to provide water mains capable of supporting a fire hydrant. In other words there are specific requirements for flow for fire hydrants. Not all areas qualify. The water main may not be big enough.

How sad and completely frustrating for all of those people in that area.

Water issues? These fire vessels carry enough water to have at least begun to douse the house?

The water we'll out very quickly depending on much area that is on fire.

@@tomwilliam5118 You can knock down your average room in 10-15 seconds. You can extinguish your average residential fire with one tank. Of course, you have to possess a strong work ethic and that pretty much doesn't exist in the USA disservice.

@@JB91710 obviously you know nothing about HFD. This is one of the most aggressive departments in the Country, if not the world. This wasn’t some little pot on the stove fire. If you think this fire could’ve been put out in 15 seconds I don’t know what to tell you

If you are rolling to an areas where you know there is no hydrant, why wouldn't you roll a tanker with the first units?

No interior firefighting surround and drown method they could of saved more of the home even though some of the roof was gone but was under control that’s when they should of gone back in to finish the interior attack training is needed in every aspect of fighting fires from the hose draggers to incident command when to use water and when not to especially when water supply is limited and the use of dump tanks and tanker operation’s somebody’s ass is gonna be in a jam about this incident somebody told me to tell you to tell him to tell the other guy to not use up all of the water and so here we are front row to a city sponsored bbq where their is prolly no accountability gonna be held WTF

As a Lubbock fireman I’d sue the pants off the city who is in charge of water supply. Also whoever let their pass device activate for that long needs remedial air pack training or hearing aids bc that is purely unacceptable. Those are to signal a firefighter is down, and for them to allow the alarm going off desensitizes them to it. That’s a danger for when an actual emergency happens

The vast majority of residential fires can be extinguished with Just one 500-gallon tank of onboard water.
