Has anyone ever crunched the numbers for how much G-force the Elite Dangerous pilots would be exposed to if they didn't have their magic inertial-dampeners. The way they can go from hundreds of Km/s to a gentle coast is insane. Granted, once they cross the speed of light barrier all physics are disregarded, but all the same... I wonder how much of a jolt it would be for those maneuvers kept under 1.0 c.
@DJ4H47 жыл бұрын
It really would be interesting to know the G-forces the normal thrusters would be producing. The frameshift drive would just make instant pancakes, I suppose.

Roll controls exist under Driving Controls right under Steering Axis as "Roll Left/Roll Right Button" :D I actually run with these and pitch only, lacking yaw, which creates the same landing problem, just in a different axis (One I'm so used to using for course correction, but I cba to map it to anything as WASD for SRV flight works for me, but having roll on the mouse instead of A/D, like I do for ships, didn't feel quite right)

@stevenhorne50897 жыл бұрын
Did you do a tutorial video on how the component rating system in ED works? I tried watching other players video teaching this but they sucked. They sound more confused than I am. They spend 20 minutes clicking from 1 screen to the next, never knowing what they would say next. They remind me of college professors that were so smart they didn't know what they were talking about. (Let that sink in. We all had professors like that.) Your tutorials are always well laid out.

@scottmanley7 жыл бұрын
'Alpha' in gaming terminology is the amount of damage you can do on your first strike, this can be critical if the target is designed to regenerate armour or shields quickly. This might be at the expense of 'Damage Per Second' which averages over time.

Scott is Scottish. Everything is incorrect in Scottish accent.
@CMDR_Evolution7 жыл бұрын
Frank Kelley - A "Guy-zer" is as legitimate as a native Hindi individual speaking with their native accent. Other people know what they mean but it's not correct. Soddof - regardless of where the Geysers can be found in the world doesn't matter at all as they have their own language where they say "goshver" or "hver". We're talking about English here though. I don't mean any offense by saying 'correctly' just that English being the actual language you're all talking, but not saying it as it's pronounced in English. VarietyGamer - Considering he's speaking correct 'English' by saying "Geezer", it doesn't matter if he speaks in a Scottish, Irish, English, American, Australian or any other accent etc ;).

Wait how is physics working on elite planets? I never bought the DLC... If you don't experience centrifugal forces then the topologie must be flat... Weird
@scottmanley7 жыл бұрын
It works fine for spacecraft, SRV's seem to experience more gravity than they should (possibly to help make them driveable)
@chalkchalkson56397 жыл бұрын
That's weird, I'd have assumed that they make them more driveable by adding mass to them instead of changing g. But as it is in videogames: if they change physics stuff, you can always abuse it in a way.
@massacreator7 жыл бұрын
Srv's engines always try to push you up, not forward, s that is why your vector was not tangent to the surface. I think SRV's dont experience more gravity, the trick is that drives don't accelerate you past some limit (as with ships, but ship can have bigger velocity limit)

2 more things: Speed indication on your hud is your speed in the forward/backward velocity of your vessel relative to space (or the planet). And, the thrusters on the SRV always point down, no matter what your pitch is, unless you're upside down or something, so you cannot get lateral velocity out of them.

Not really up to speed with the facts are we Scott? No, these observations are not from Hubble! They are in fact from the Cassini spacecraft. If in fact this discovery was something they could have gathered from Hubble it would have been published years ago. In fact when Hubble went online they did look at this moon and throw out some observations and speculated about life on this moon. However you are wrong about the news that was released recently which had nothing to do with Hubble.
