I remember this older student in high school used to call me "space cadet" but if I could go back in time I would totally have an awesome comeback with "dip tube" or "floating dip tube", haha! Awesome episode my fellow dip tubes! Cheers 🍻

I run my adjustments into strike water before mashing. Lactic acid during recirc/vorloft in HLT for ph adjustment.

Good show. Rice hulls are needed if you want to flow through the grain bed. They aren't necessary for no sparge brewing. Just lift up the basket or bag and the wort will drain out just fine without them.

For rice hulls. I usually rinse them (not so clear water comes out after) and there's less wort lost to adding them dry.

Maybe I'm lucky but I've got an "all in one", I don't use a bag ,I've never used rice hulls and never had a stuck sparge.

Hey Josh in regards to clearing beer have you ever tried to use Biofine? Awesome product I use 15ml per keg before filling. Only takes a few days in the kegerator and half a cup of krud comes out at first but after that is clear and crisp. Even after moving the keg you get another tiny spurt of muck but straight away clear again

I will definitely look into Biofine. Thanks!
