Some times when starting a Diesel engine that’s if you turn the key so glow plugs get power but do not turn on the engine then off then on to glow plugs then off do this thrice( 3 times ) then go to start engine. This helps in cold weather.

No, you may not know us personally but we feel we know you! One day once I graduate from KZbin University with my "Masters" in Skoolie Conversions. I look forward to the day when I can help someone, like you taught me and 60K+ of us, who watch and learn from you. I think you really are a humble but brilliant Professor!! Keep up the good work

I think yours in the only channel that I have watched that really shows everything about doing a complete build....you don't do the quick time lapse/1episode build...you are not one of these professional builders who only show the rigs after they have done the work or they just show their big work garage when they are delivering the rig to the owner....and nothing wrong with those people....but I think you give your viewers a very realistic idea of what it takes to fully do a build out....and you show that with a little help from your friends you can probably do your own build or at least most of it....great job on having a great channel and being a great friend/mentor.

It start with just checkin fuel pressure after the fuel pump. Also check to see if there is voltage to glowplug. Also check the fuel lines see if they have any weather checking. I had issues on my bus were the main supply line was rotted out causing air to leak in but no noticable leaks. U should be able to diagnose the issue with a multi meter and a fuel gauge few tools. Diesels are expensive to just throw parts at it. There pretty simple just need air fuel and combustion to run... so.. I'd start with checking fuel pressure if it were to come into a shop I work at..

Gina may have an issue with the fuel pump. I believe that''s a Stanadyne injection pump and they did have issues with them on that engine. I hope that's not it but be prepared!

Will Dale spray foam with the cans in the voids (between the board where they don't quite meet and seams where there is no insulation) or just leave it the way it is?
@woodchippers_WestWingDimeBag3 жыл бұрын
you haven't given much info about the starting issue, but it's common for diesels to have a small fuel leak that allows air into the line and lets the fuel run back into the tank. this means you have extended cranking, esp with a mechanical lift pump, on a cold start once fuel gets to the engine, it starts normally until it has enough time to leak down again you can test for this by spraying carb cleaner into the intake before/while cranking it should allow the engine to start and chug along for a few seconds while giving the lift pump a chance to supply fuel to the motor starting fluid can damage a diesel easily, use brake cleaner or carb cleaner, its less explosive and wont damage the pistons

@@navigationnowhere I can tell you from personal and expensive experience that if you do not wait for the glow plugs to cycle before cranking the engine you will short out the plugs and have to do the job all over again. However, you are on the scene and have more knowledge about that particular situation than anyone else. Good luck with the trouble shooting.
