Much appreciated! This has given me significantly more confidence to attempt a little engine surgery myself. I've never attempted anything more advanced than changing oil and headlight bulbs. I'm a little unsure if it's actually going to save me any money in the long run since I have a list of tools I'll have to acquire. Don't tell that last part to the wife.

@@calehein3237 the good news is tools are an economy of scale. They cost a lot upon purchase, but you can always use them again in the future for another repair, making them cost less the more you use them. At least that's how I look at it. I'm glad I could help.

I had a 70 Lemans that had a bad cam .So I had to pull engine and have cam bearings replaced . Well anyway I was living in Florida .Called my brotherinlaw here and axed him why my engine was running hot .He said " Did u take the backing plate off old water pump ?? I said " What ??" lol . Put that on and that car ran incredible . Bought it for 300 dollars .

Did you put any thread sealant on the water pump bolts threads?

No. I used Teflon tape on the ones that touch water after wire brush cleaning those threads.

Dang !! You are always doing something . I started cutting grass at 615 am cst yesterday . The monsoon came in around 9 . So hopefully today I can wrap that up . Many projects going on around here . Supposed to be almost 90 this weekend . At least the rivers are full again . I actually started at 2:00 am cst today .had to do invoicing before dawn . Can you imagine the mosquitos this year ?? It's always something around here. Window regulator broke on the truck the other day at the car wash so I have some 2x4's in the door, holding the window up until the new regulator comes in. I should be going to the quarry today to get some gravel for that back yard but I'm feeling lazy today so I'm probably just gonna sit at home and play Xbox and maybe edit some more videos. If only I weren't so lazy.
