That a good lesson to ya’ll! Drill your own water well if your going to build a house! That way you’ll never have to worry about water! It’s probably THEE most important thing! I drilled my own water well. I found on my property WHERE to drill by using 2 metal rods! Holding one in each hand when they cross that’s where you drill! It’s called water dousing!

I’m doing a rainwater system or when it rains, it runs off away from the tank at first, then pour into the tank after the roof is clean

Well it’s hard to see what’s actually going on there but the filter should typically be on the pressure side of the pump if the city pressure is low as you say you will have a hard time getting flow the idea is to filter what’s going to the house, the tanks should be drained and flushed at some point depending how bad it is

No city water,mountain water and 1 metered water line also from above,so idea is block anything going into cistern tanks.if it travels thru the pump could not be as purified,but i see your point

@@screamdreamer I have working in engineering 30 years filters go after the pump. The pump impeller has Hugh vines it won’t get plugged with fines, you can install a strainer like course mesh if you’re worried about it. Also don’t pump from the bottom of the tank have the pipe a foot or so higher you will trap fines in the tank. Just my observation and experience for what it’s worth
