Using your techniques I verified our bladder was ruptured on our well/irrigation system tank. I was wondering why I couldnt get the pressure switch adjusted right. The pump short cycles and only builds about 44psi. The original tank is a 22 gallon unit and we are thinking of putting a larger bladder tank in. We will definitely check the precharge of air in it before filling it with water. Getting some wide price differences between vendors too, Grainger has a 80gal tank with a fiberglass body (I wouldnt trust it, always have used metal tanks round here for years), for $1067 ! Then theres a 119gal metal tank for $863 from another local vendor. Then theres Amazon, less costly, but says material is polypropylene, not metal. Cripes! Makes me want to go back to the old air-volume control type tank my folks had back in the 1970s! Darn bladders only seem to last a few years!

I believe in putting a union before the manifold. It's much better than always cutting the pipe and stacking couplings. I may never have to work on a system again, but the next guy will thank me not curse me.

Great video. I have a well tank beside my well pump in a concrete block hole in my front yard. Could i install the pressure tank inside my house? Its maybe 25 feet from the well. Would be easier for me to keep after it. Plus its really damp and humid in the pit its currently in. Would i just need a one way valve preventing pressure from flowing down the wellpipe?

Would it be a good idea to have a check valve before the tank? Or does the pump itself have a check valve?

Could you make a video on inspecting? A well system for a home inspector?

I had a "jack-of-all-trades" install my pressure tank. He installed it under a trailer house laying on its side. It seems to work at the moment, but might it cause problems laying on its side?

I replaced my 30/50 switch after not having power for 12 days. My tank Schrader valve is reading a pressure of 26 psi, after turning the breaker back on after install it is taking a really long time to build pressure. It’s moved 10 psi in 2 mins… do you think the pump burnt out from the power outage

@eliasnichols909 possible that's there's a broken wire down the well or it's 🏃♀️ on half the voltage. Or there's a hole in the pipe somewhere (turn off the breaker and see if it drops from 10psi to 0)

Hello, I’ve been watching your videos since my well tanks have started having issues. My question is: Do you have a video on how to properly plumb in a dual, 20 gallon, pressurized tank system? I have the original layout but I don’t believe it needs to be as complicated as it is, I can’t find a dual pressurized tank plumbing on your KZbin site, but do you know where I can find this information/video at? Thanks much for your patience while teach all us lay persons!! Keep up the helpful education…….

If your trying to use 2 tanks, you simply just Tee into the waterline anywhere. Keeping the air pressure in both tanks the same

You mentioned the disconnect for the power. What is the typical size disconnect that you see?

Does it matter where the one way valve is installed? On the outlet of the tank vs the inlet? Thanks for all the great videos
@h2omechanic2 жыл бұрын
It's not necessary for one at the tank. If you want to add one, put it on the out going side of the tank

When these go bad, do you guys every replace just the bladder, rather than the whole tank?
@ralph954 ай бұрын
No. More profit in replacing the whole tank

You have the pressure switch and pressure gauge backwards The pressure switch goes on the well side of that tea

Hey man, great video. I wish I would have seen it before replacing my 70's 80's tank. I replaced it the same way it was before, it was professionally done 40_-50 years ago.in a basement. I have a little sensor that was wired into control. I put it back but don't know what its for. Looks like a photo sensor for light. My control is 3ft above the floor so don't think its water sensor for leak. Anyway, new tank has helped tremendously, but pretty slow fill. What does a well pump replacement cost? Pretty sure I need to start saving.lol
