so, how much energy is AVAILABLE.?! that number tells you HOW the 'wheel should be designed and How Much energy you should EXPECT the system to produce; after losses. it is not Logical to expect a small, low-flow 'wheel to turn a high-speed pma efficiently.! a large-diameter LOW-speed alternator should be used for this sort of application.! the radius of the FIRST gear/pulley (on the output shaft) should be just large enough to produce a 1:3 rpm step up. the design of a waterwheel and the way it is loaded should CAUSE it to rotate at an optimal rate; that is, around fifteen rpm. this Optimal rotation rate is determined by the amount of Time that is Required for a bucket to fill.! 0351 the 'wheel does NOT have enough buckets.!!! in case you don't know, the amount of 'head' at a waterwheel is FIXED; it is equal to the Diameter of the 'wheel'. period.
