I polish some pivots on a lathe and then check the pivot/bushings for alignment.
Also, I clean and grease one of the mainsprings using a spring winder.

Good video Scottie. Wouldnt it save you a lot of time that instead of putting the wheels in individually into the plates that you do a tilt test instead. The first wheel that you put in didnt tilt that much but the second wheel that you put in tilted a lot and you could see that the bushing was really worn. Just my thoughts. Keep doing a great job with your videos.

Nice video. I’m new to clock repair and will be working on my first Waterbury kitchen clock in a couple of weeks. After cleaning and checking the pivots for fit, could you apply a coat of lacquer onto the plates to bring back the bright finish? Thanks for sharing.

@@jimreichel4052 , not a good idea. The lacquer will flake off over time and end up between the pivots and the bushings.
